That’s literally the plan. What the fuck. Also, the Biden Administration didn’t abandon them, Boeing’s craft was deemed unsafe.

"A real leader would put them on any craft, no matter the cost!" - Same idiots that probably drink unpasturized milk to "stick it to the man".

Oh yeah, I'm sure he just walked up and asked Elon to organise this in the first week of his presidency - the return via SpaceX definitely wasn't planned and organised well before the election happened /s

More proof that Trump lies as easily as he breaths, and that his ~~cult~~ base will believe anything that comes out of his mouth, no matter how easily it can be debunked

Even ~~esteemed journalist~~ noted war criminal Eric Berger can't... even... right now: https://bsky.app/profile/sciguyspace.bsky.social/post/3lgtnrx6g422j

WTF, man.

Why did Elon Musk just say Trump wants to bring two stranded astronauts home?

An earlier return would make no sense whatsoever. The Crew-9 Dragon has already been sent up with two empty seats for Butch and Suni. They aren't stranded, and there is no need to come back any sooner than is scheduled.

You mean noted war criminal Eric Berger?

Of course! Can't believe I made that mistake. I've corrected it now :)

They aren’t stranded, and there is no need to come back any sooner than is scheduled.

But then Trump couldn't make himself look like their saviour, which is all he cares about.

Bingo. You've found the real reason.

NASA announced the mission to retrieve them in December.

If anything, this really speaks volumes about Grandpa in the White House not knowing this already as it a pretty big deal on the news for about a month when we were all bashing Boeing. But some might have missed it under the Boeing assassinating people memes.

But NAH grandpa, we already knew the schedule.

Because he's showboating to his 77m cult following.

How long until SpaceX technology is advanced enough to launch Elon into the sun?

[-] shutz@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago

We have everything needed right now, apart from adequate solar shielding. But that won't be a problem if we do it at night.

Wait, does he think that Elon has to fly the ship up there to pick them up...?

[-] adarza@lemmy.ca 11 points 3 days ago

of course he does.

probably thinks old spice can just putz up there himself and bring 'em back.. like going to fetch someone from the airport.

[-] OwlPaste@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

Can they leave the rat up there then?

[-] adarza@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 days ago

hey donnie.

you know what you could do that nobody else could ever do.. not one single woke commie librul could ever do if you did it......

'be the first president to golf on mars'

that's right.

only a few at nasa know this.. but the atmosphere is breathable, even. mariner and viking were just covers for sending the gear up to do the work. the wifi is great, and they got a mcdonalds under that rover now and everything.

i hear the golfing is absolutely superb. miles-long drives, straight and true every time. and no immigrunts or libruls in sight. and you know what else.. the best part? you'd lose weight instantly. i'd say you'd get down to a buck twenty-five, easy.

pretty sweet!

super. lets get you right into a capsule to take you to the starship cruiser on the backside of the moon to get you there. it leaves tomorrow! no time to waste.

see ya, mr first-president-to-golf-on-mars.

What platform is this? It looks like twitter but I don’t think it is.

[-] baronvonj@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago

Truth Social. It's a Mastodon instance with federation disabled.

Imagine being relieved to know you don't have to fly on a Boeing, only to find out you're going to be flying on a SpaceX
