That shirt does indeed, go hard.

[-] piyuv@lemmy.world 103 points 1 month ago

You’ll get arrested for wearing this in public but not denying health insurance claim to 900.000 people

[-] 2pt_perversion@lemmy.world 38 points 1 month ago

In the US? I don't think this shirt would violate any law or get you arrested. There was that guy with the "I eat ass" bumper sticker that got arrested for profanity but the state attorney dropped it because it probably is protected free speech.

[-] prole 27 points 1 month ago

By "arrested" they actually mean, "have the shit beat out of you by cops"

[-] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 31 points 1 month ago

guys no cop is going to fuck with you for a t-shirt like this. Ive hung out in the punk scene for decades and people wear clothing with very, very explicit anarchist and anti cop etc language and no cops are stopping people for fuckin t-shirts.

[-] Dupree878@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Yeah. The cops that fuck with you were gonna fuck with you anyway

They'll skip that. They can't actually get you convicted anyways, they'll just get the thugs with badges to beat you for "resisting arrest", then shoot you because "they feared for their life".

You can buy these in the hospital gift shop, I’m sure.

But how can you afford it when your claim has been denied?

[-] EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago

The shirts are only $3949.99 it’s so affordable you can buy six for the price of one ER visit.

Genuinely might get this on hoodie

[-] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 29 points 1 month ago

Only $19.95 at your friendly Walmart!

I mean... not to deny how based this is.

But you could potentially lose your job and by extension, your health insurance (and any dependents that are on your insurance plan also lose coverage).

Also cops are just gonna use that as an excuse to do police brutality.

It's ultimately your decision, but please consider the potential consequences.

Stay safe!

I may not have the guts to wear this, but I would absolutely buy it and have it framed in the entrance to my house or somewhere visible.

It was today top question on r/legal. Is it legal to wear it? It is but YK

[-] SouthEndSunset@lemm.ee 8 points 1 month ago

I’m British, there’s a decent chance some bootlicker might slap me, but I could wear this all day.

Despite initial reporting that the words were "deny," "defend," and "depose," police clarified the following day that it was "delay" and not "defend" written on one of the casings.

[-] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 month ago

I think it just means that there is a missing bullet (maybe never fired).

Obviously a reference to Delay, Deny, Defend, a common practice of insurance companies to maximize profit. The excerise is left to the reader to decide what "Depose" means.

"Three fired cartridge cases alongside three unfired cartridges were found at the scene. The words "delay", "deny", and "depose" were written on the cases. "Depose" was inscribed on a casing from a round fired into Thompson, while "delay" was marked on an unfired cartridge ejected as the shooter racked the pistol, possibly to clear a jam or intentionally discard the live round."

https://www.punkwithacamera.com/ is a small screen printer selling them.

[-] selokichtli@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 month ago

Wasn't "delay" instead of "defend"? Been finding both versions all the time.

You could just buy it and send it random big companies....

[-] snrkl@lemmy.sdf.org 46 points 1 month ago

Or wear it to your claim rejection review meeting maybe?

[-] ShareMySims@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago

The shadow looks like it's supposed to resemble something, but I guess it's just oddly drawn.

In the absence of justice, people will settle for vengeance. We are well past morality determining outcomes.

I was just talking about this earlier, that someone would make merchandise of this event! Absolutely not surprised given the number of people who have been cheering this whole thing on.

[-] zephorah@lemm.ee 8 points 1 month ago

It’s clear these words were intended for just this. An inciting, revolutionary logo to be printed and repeated.

Even Live. Laugh. Love. took off everywhere and that was a ridiculously cringy eyeroll piece of decor, bumper sticker, and tattoo. But it was catchy.

This guy is playing off of several “catchy” factors well beyond writing it on his brass. He means it to be emblazoned on everything.

So no, I’m not surprised someone broke out their Cricut and made this. He may have even made his own, given the intentionality here. There’s probably spray paint out there on walls already too.

It’s like he authored a book or video game scene and then carried out the role of the main themselves. I’d be surprised if this guy wasn’t heavy into screens and books escapism, and writing.
