I don't get the verification mail, after registration.
If you're linked to individual videos you can see them. Check out !loops@midwest.social to browse some without signing up.
I think registrations were approved manually, so if it hasn't been that long it might just take more time.

It's Tiktok and loops, the latter has a small population right now but might explode if Tiktok gets banned and people are principled enough to not use IG or other literal genocide funding services.
Spoiler: they won't, unfortunately.
If you want to switch because of the ban in the US, you'll probably be able to get around that by sideloading it or using a vpn.
You could also look at the linktrees for anyone you follow on tiktok to see where else they have accounts. A lot of people post the same content to multiple platforms.
Loops looks promising. It doesn't have the source code available yet, but Dan's said he's going to release it under AGPL.
There's also Vidzy. They have federation working, but it's is only in the browser so far, isn't as polished, and has barely any users.
Tumblr has a lot of LGBTQ people, but is a text based platform as opposed to a short form video platform.
