My boycott of Walmart strengthens.

Time to shop at farmers' markets, independent grocers and Costco.

I've been boycotting Walmart for fuck, 7 years now holy shit. I have not lost out on anything by not shopping with them, except for maybe I have fewer shitty low quality products in my house.

The only thing Walmart is any good for is either for communities that they have waltzed in and put the local grocers out of business so that they control the only food source in a 10 to 20 mile radius, (not that that's good but if you're in that situation you got to fucking shop at Walmart) and typically their produce is slightly fresher and higher quality than a lot of other places like kroger, because they have the turnover needed to keep fresh produce fresh.

But if you can shop at a farmers market you're probably going to get fresher healthier food at roughly equivalent prices.

Here's what Walmart decided:

  1. Grants to Pride events will be reviewed, for example to make sure family pavilions are not next to drag shows.

  2. 3rd-party marketplace listings will be monitored to ensure sexually explicit and transgender items are not "aimed at minors"

  3. Demographic information related to race, gender, and sexuality will no longer be gathered or used in decisions about suppliers.

  4. When its 5-year commitment to a racial equity center established after the killing of George Floyd runs out next year, it will not be renewed.

So binders that are aimed at young trans men so they don't damage their bodies from using the wrong method to keep their chest flat.

No surprise, really; the Waltons are greedy assholes who will refrain from doing the right thing if it affects their bottom line.

And given their market share, they could easily push back at Trump and make it stick.
