We need more meme channels. What about c/ShittyFoodPorn?
Some community suggestions from Reddit that I loved to browse would be amazing if there are communities of them on here at Beehaw:
- c/programming
- c/programminghumor
- c/learnmachinelearning
- c/AIresearch - discussion of new and upcoming AI/ML papers
- c/CScareerQuestions
Anything witchcraft related, if possible.
A community about music production would be cool! I feel like the current music community is mostly about listening to music or making recommendations, it'd be cool to have one that's dedicated to production.
Physical media? (For collectors of film, game vinyl, etc)
Something for amateur music producers to share work in, get feedback, kudos, whatevs.
There were some communities on Reddit that I quickly gave up on because they were either dead, or full of jerks.
It's a bit more general, but I always really liked r/WeAreTheMusicMakers. Sub for people who were creating music to talk about methods, techniques, and just different parts of the lifestyle in general. Also people could share their music, which does have the chance of being low quality spam but if you contain it to like a weekly megathread It's manageable.

Bushcrafting
The one I couldn't find mentioned here would be /c/digitalminimalism. Here we could share tips and experiences on reducing screen time, using dumbphones, exploring minimal apps, and all things related to simplifying our digital lives.
Windows OS
And/or
Mac OS
To match all the Linux communities?
The windows discussions on reddit were always really helpful.
Or maybe just Tech Support.
Or an even more general "Advice and Help" or "Troubleshooting" hive, for any kind of troubleshooting.
Thank you for doing this! A few suggestions I haven't seen or couldn't find, at least, are below.
- Spanish / Español
- AskWomen / AskWomenOver30
- Wilderness Backpacking
- Medicine
- Cooking
Running! The Reddit running community was helpful and very active and now they've shut down entirely
financialindependence
A lot of good suggestions here. I miss /r/Formula1, but that’s probably too niche for Beehaw at this point. That got me thinking along the lines of “motorsports,” with would be nice and broad. A wildcard option is “livesports” where people can discuss, well, sports that are live. Live threads when watching live sports are fun.
