People who can't see this thing is basically dominated by pony stuff are blind

I didn't know they were still going strong

[-] FizzlePopBerryTwist@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

The herd grows every day...

Lemmy.Blahaj.zone

But I'm just glad I can't find any hate symbols.

[-] SgtSilverLining 21 points 1 year ago

I love that he was labeled "SHONK" for most of it. Also kudos to the person/group that went around incorrectly labeling things.

Some people...tried. Fortunately, their attempts got overwritten.

[-] basxto@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 year ago

But that’s a whole instance, not a community

How do the Germans always win

[-] just_browsing@reddthat.com 48 points 1 year ago

A big English speaking population, it's small enough that people have a sense of national pride but still large enough to have plenty of users, and most importantly a 3 color flag that's easy to draw with no outside coordination.

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 77 points 1 year ago

Plus, they just love expanding east and west.

[-] JesusTheCarpenter@feddit.uk 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Shots been fired.

Btw, if this is an original comment this has to be one of the funnier if not the funniest comment I saw in Lemmy so far. Well done sir/lady!

Efficiency ... German Efficiency!

[-] gigachad@feddit.de 19 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I want to remind you of this flow chart visualizing how the Germans worked on place 2022 (sorry for potato quality). Does that answer your question?

[-] ilost7489@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 year ago

It's that german engineering everyone talks about

That Nine Inch Nails logo is C.L.E.A.N.

Well done.

[-] the_dopamine_fiend@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

Thanks! I had a lot of help and the template tool was crucial.

I just like that there were two separate Aphex Twin logos there.

Those Brits have a pretty big flag in the bottom left... ~i know it's supposed to be the Aussie flag~

[-] calhoon2005@aussie.zone 21 points 1 year ago

We never finish anything....

[-] eagleeyedtiger@lemmy.nz 20 points 1 year ago

I think you guys were a bit too ambitious with the size..

I dunno, but I spent my morning drinking coffe and putting my name in an empty space and it’s still there. So I feel like that’s a win.

[-] coco@lemmy.world 26 points 1 year ago

Germany flag accross like reddit 🙄

[-] redw0rm@kerala.party 24 points 1 year ago

As far as they don't destroy anything, its okay. I already feel this canvas was more inclusive of smaller arts and just continued around them ( instead of overriding them )

[-] ram@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 year ago

They destroyed multiple pieces. wrt myself, they cut off all but the chest and head of Myne from Ascendance of a Bookworm, and there was an Alolan Rapidash they tried to take too. They attempted to destroy the pride banner as well, as late as 4:30PM EST yesterday.

[-] redw0rm@kerala.party 6 points 1 year ago

Sorry to hear that. Since this was the first event and the moderators itself said technical issues prevented from reading and taking action in a lot of spam reports, i hope the next time would be lot better.

[-] ram@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 year ago

Ya, there definitely is some work to be done. There was one of those confederate snakes on the board for a while too - the "don't treat on me" one that modern domestic terrorist groups enjoy. It ended up getting taken down by the community, drawn over and erased underneath the pride-coloured paint roller in the top corner :)

I hope to see the next canvas be better and more active ^^

Some things never change

[-] KiofKi@feddit.de 8 points 1 year ago

It's like a digital towel

[-] expatriado@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago
[-] GlennMagusHarvey@mander.xyz 10 points 1 year ago

Yeah, they got organized very early and very fast.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 22 points 1 year ago

The blue shark one stands out most to me. I'm not sure if that's a specific community, or the entire instance tho.

[-] Firefly7 21 points 1 year ago

That’s the lemmy.blahaj.zone instance logo

[-] weebkent@ani.social 21 points 1 year ago

to be honest im just pleasantly surprised that a rag tag group of us osu peeps left over from r/place managed to build a few big things

[-] Stinkywinks@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago

After seeing place for years, I still have no idea what OSU is

[-] weebkent@ani.social 21 points 1 year ago

~~Ohio State University~~ osu! is a rhythm game where you click circles and is played by weebs such as myself

[-] Xelnoc 12 points 1 year ago

You click the circles to the beat

[-] p0ppe@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

Aussie.zone were super ambitious, but didn’t have the muscles to pull through.

It's always the Germans.

[-] exapsy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 year ago

Comparing it to last year, that seems to be a lot of white space. Damn.

[-] redw0rm@kerala.party 18 points 1 year ago
[-] grant@toast.ooo 33 points 1 year ago

as far as I'm aware, this is the first r/place-like event for Lemmy

exapsy might be talking about Reddit's r/place from last year tho

[-] exapsy@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 year ago

Oh yeah. Wait we had a Lemmy place here?? Bruh, I didn’t even know about it sorry.

[-] Ginjutsu@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

you got 30 more minutes to place a pixel, lol

[-] technoby@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

I thought that at first but then realized I think it’s because the communities respected each other. It’s kind of endearing that way, like we all belong here and there’s enough space for all of us.

So… how do I find out what communities are on this canvas cause some of them look like ones I’d want to check out
