The craving. (lemmy.ml)
submitted 1 year ago by entertainmeonly@lemmy.ml to c/mtf

I'm sure I'm not alone in having cravings that seem to come out of nowhere and never really get satisfied. What are some cravings you all get and what seems to satisfy them best?

I found Mt Olive sells jugs of pickle juice and a shot seems to help at night. Or in the afternoon. I just had one.

Pickled pepperoncini peppers. I swear they're absolutely delicious.

So good. I've got some but I've mainly been using them in Mississippi pot roast. I've also got pickled jalapeños for making homemade taco bell quesadilla sauce.

California Hot Mix is awesome. My homemade kimchi was fire. I liked how spicy I was able to get it, it was crunchy and sour. Delicious. Nothing store bought has come close (for my taste). Depression took away the joy of cooking a while ago. So now I just buy California Hot Mix.

Sorry to hear friend. Hope you find some relief. Cooking helped me but the dishes where hard to find motivation to keep clean.

I'm looking at making this asain chili sauce soon. I also enjoy some spice sometimes.

I've always wanted to try making my own kimchi whats the secret?

That looks legit!

I added Chinese leeks, cubed daikon and carrots to it. It was so pretty to look at, and was so good. My son used to eat it out of the jar. So the second time I made like 12 quarts of it. I spent something like 13 hours in the kitchen prepping all of the veggies, but it was so worth it. I don’t think I would be able to make it again since I now live in an apartment. The super cabbagy smell during the ferment can be quite strong. I’d like to make it again, but I just can’t seem to have the will to do it, or most things. I’m working on it though. Sorry for the long reply 😅

After being on HRT for nearly a year, the inability to satisfy the need for salt and vinegar flavored gold fishies....my poor tongue though o.O

Onion/Garlic/Shallot, camelizing them, pickling them, and in food. I swear no vampire will enter my city haha.

Some of the weirder ones: Carbonation? Not like soda, but even sparkling water. Mouthfeel is very important these days.

Dry liquids. Wine, Cranberry Juice. That one is very hard to satisfy.

Sweets! As a diabetic it's really enough out there finding anything like gummies or skittles that have anything I can have in the amounts I crave (taking suggestions if ya got any)
