right?? I use the word lazy/laziness on myself just cuz its quicker than figuring out what the problem is every time and describing it but "laziness" is literally never the reason for me to not do things

so I never came to the conclusion that laziness was or wasnt real but I never saw proof of it being a thing, and this article looks like more proof that it isnt! :3

This article has been hugely impactful on how I perceive other people and myself as well.

I've come across this before and read it each time. For people who've been called lazy it can help clarify or at least help you feel seen.

It also renews my sense of compassion when I feel myself drifting towards thinking or judging others as lazy.

Even if a bit woo woo for your tastes, Worth it for the perspective, IMO.

I'd really like to read the whole book that grew out of this. It's been on my reading list for quite some time now.

It's also very relevant to my work with clients. At this point, I can't imagine not having this perspective.

Thanks for this. Added to book to my to read list. I have unmedicated ADHD (cannot tolerate meds for it) and this resonated with me. It is also a good reminder that even people that seem like they are intentionally not doing the work or task at hand might have some reasoning behind not doing it! It is easy to forget sometimes that I am not alone in my struggles and other reasons for being “lazy” exist.
