Fuck Ubisoft. Fuck major game publishers.

Do you live outside of the US and hate Ubisoft and the direction the games industry is headed towards?

Do you live in the US and have ever ‘owned’ a copy of The Crew from Ubisoft?

Visit stopkillinggames.com to help drive a dagger through their rancid hearts.

I want this to take off but unfortunately it won't. Nothing ever comes of these kinds of things and this is no different.

"They already stole your car, why call the police"

[-] Shnog@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Because I love my dog.

[-] VelvetStorm@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The difference is the police will arrest people who steal cars and will prosecute them but they won't do the same for the uber wealthy exos of these companies.

[-] bigmclargehuge@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I mean, 90 percent of the time, the police can't do jack about a car theft besides keep their eyes peeled. By the time you even realize it's gone, it's usually in pieces or in a shipping crate on its way to another country.

I admit the analogy wasn't perfect but i think it gets the point across

That's the spirit!

I’m not buying anything from Ubisoft. If people do that, they get exactly what they deserve.. a game from Ubisoft.

I think the last good Ubisoft game I truly loved was Beyond Good & Evil. And I am pretty sure they merely published that, but it's been a long time I could be misremembering.

Anno 1800 is a really great game by Ubisoft.

[-] nightwatch_admin@feddit.nl 1 points 1 year ago

That’s probably why development now stops. Nah, I’m being sarcastic, they did good with Anno 1800 and I can understand something new to make money with is needed.

Idk about you guys, but I will wait until they've patched out the game breaking bugs and system compatibility issues. And then I'll pay them 17$ for 1 month of their game service, beat the game, and cancel the sub.

[-] Zorque@kbin.social 14 points 1 year ago

That assumes they'll actually fix the game breaking bugs and system compatibility issues.

[-] caseofthematts@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Yea, I'm not going to give them any money. Fuck'em.

I think the thing that bothers me most about lemmys whirlwind of negativity about everything is that you get people like op, that find something they want to spread negativity about, then they post it to a bunch of communities.

Lemmy is small, so you see this one thing over and over and over again. It's so tiring.

I get that this kind of stuff isn't something to be positive about, I'm just getting so tired of lemmy. At least reddit didn't have a constant stream of negativity. Multiplexed through every subreddit.

I'm convinced it's this kind of thing that's killing the entire thing. You can't build communities on this, so there's less and less people looking every day. I know I look at lemmy a lot less than I used to.

[-] mcforest@feddit.de 22 points 1 year ago

Isn't like every bigger gaming news posted over 100 times on different communities and instances over a period of multiple days, not even including all the reposts of every different gaming outlet?

[-] echo64@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

On lemmy? Yes. And the small nature of it makes it obvious. But lemmy also goes for the negative outrage stuff more than things of interest, and it's smaller, so like I was saying. One person making the same post to a bunch of communities makes it stand out a lot,.

Honestly, I think it's probably just time to delete the app. Lemmy isn't what I hoped it would be. We'll it was at first and for a good few months. But eventually the good people move away.

Thanks for letting us all know!

I mean welcome to social media?

You know you have options to block and filler what you see so you can live in your bubble of only positivity while the AAAA gaming industry continues to get worse.

Heck, I mean feel free to block me since I tend to post positive and negative stories of it bothers you so much, no skin off my back while I post positive stories about Arrowhead and Larian Studios until they start doing things that aren't positive.

[-] kaitco@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

It’s completely asinine for a game to cost this much, especially since it is going to be chock full of equally asinine microtransactions and costly DLC.

The “patient games” methodology is the best way to approach all gaming these days because, odds are, the game won’t be worth the $20-30 later price point anyway.

[-] dynamojoe@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago

I keep telling myself "I want an x-box" and the news keeps telling me "no you fucking don't".

It is NOT an "early access period" it is a "late access punishment" for not be willing to overpay for a game. Journalists should call it that and nothing else.

[-] caut_R@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

I got all the Assassin‘s Creeds (apart from Valhalla and Mirage) on sale for way less with all the extra bs… it‘s not a multiplayer game with a playerbase that could die off, so I‘ve got time to wait for a sale in 3-5 years. Who knows, maybe it‘ll even run properly by then. Buying on release is paying extra to take part in an extended early access beta.

[-] Kaiyoto@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I had half a thought of getting the game, that just made me nope.
