Is it just me, or have cosmic crisp apples significantly gone down in crunchiness and texture in the past five months or so. Every bag that I get is shit. Every single apple is mushy.

Cosmic Crisp apples used to be my favorite, and there was rarely a shitty one. I have gotten them from different stores, and they're all garbage now. Can't even finish them. Anybody know why this happened?

I had one yesterday in NW Washington and it was really crunchy and tasty. Top tier apple.

Weird. I'm in the southeast. Maybe it's a regional thing.

We're out of apple season in Washington (typically it's over by December) so dunno where you're getting your, but probably it's a new source.

After looking into this, maybe you're right. Looks like most of their orchards are located in Washington.

I have heard that cosmic crisps can last up to a year, so maybe they've been selling old apples?

Yeah, it kind of sucks but there's a bunch of other fruit that's probably coming into season. I might look at that. I know that I've been seeing more honey mangoes in the grocery stores. Apples tend to be best around October, unfortunately.

Chase in-season foods; your palate will thank you ☺️

I thought this was just me ...

Mine come out super bitter too 😭

I've had a couple be disgustingly bitter, but it hasn't been as consistent as the mushiness/mealiness across all batches. They used to be my favorites... thought I'd struck gold...

Im no appleologist, but it could just be that they're out of season wherever you are

I'm not sure where they source the apples, but I've been eating them for a couple of years and haven't had this problem before.
