Don’t feel bad for blocking the worst offenders. Lemmy is small enough for that option to work quite well. Which is the best you can do. Being ignored drives them crazy.

I don't mean to be memey, but personally I find the "hive mind" here to be way more homogeneous than on reddit. Unless you count different engineering fields as different viewpoints. There are way fewer creatives and trades here. And the engineery types like to pile on to any point of view that doesn't match their world view.

You definitely do have to work harder to find more diverse viewpoints here. It's a bit of a chicken and egg problem. At least on mastodon you can specifically follow people who talk about things outside your realm of experience.
