How long until Blue MAGA starts calling Schiff a Russian bot? /s

[-] Doom@ttrpg.network 52 points 2 years ago

what the fuck is blue maga? that is the most propaganda ass name lmfao

[-] garretble@lemmy.world 32 points 2 years ago

It sounds exactly like a “Hey, our MAGA people are insane and worship a really stupid guy for [reasons no rational person understands], so obviously they have a group of people who are equally insane!” when no one worships Biden; it’s just the alternative is too nuts to ever vote for.

[-] Doom@ttrpg.network 25 points 2 years ago

You can tell some of these people are perpetually online and act like regular people are out there acting /thinking this way when they're just not.

Like we see the strings buddy, we know this is puppetry and we see the narrative you're selling lmfao

Its not a remotely new thing. Its been around since 2017.

https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/blue-maga

A 2020 primary meme describing it:

More recent examples are things like Whoopi saying she'd be voting for Joe Biden even if he was shitting his pants on stage. Or Joy Reid saying she'd vote for Biden if he was in a coma. If that resonates with you, you are probably blue maga.

[-] Doom@ttrpg.network 29 points 2 years ago

This is a meme someone made this means nothing. Blue Maga is not a thing taking snippets of what dummies say is called creating a narrative

It is Bernie Bros 2.0, a name the Clinton team created to try and gender Bernie supporters

Aka, propaganda

A guardian article that makes it really real 🙄

[-] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

[Hey look its the thing]

Looks like your index finger might be having a little trouble actually clicking. Let me get that for you:

Writing for the Guardian, 15 years ago, the cult expert Rick Ross warned us to “watch out for the tell-tale signs” of a cult, including “no tolerance for questions or critical inquiry”, “there is no legitimate reason to leave”, “former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil”, and “the group/ leader is always right”.

Anyone who has observed the behaviour of the Democratic party base, especially online; of elected Democrats on Capitol Hill; and of the Democratic president himself, since the CNN debate on 28 June, will have spotted some of those “tell-tale signs”.

Let’s start with the Democratic base – those “hyper-partisans” who “act like members of a cult because they treat their political party like a religious identity”, to quote the political strategist Chris Sosa. I have spent the past few weeks watching the Very Online members of the base embracing an endless stream of “Blue Anon” conspiracy theories, pushed on behalf of the Dear Leader.

Key elements:

“no tolerance for questions or critical inquiry”,

“there is no legitimate reason to leave”,

“former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil”,

“the group/ leader is always right”.

Here, this is for you.

Ok, but you are like, in denial/ denying something exists.

Like, your thoughts or opinions around what blue-maga is or its existence are irrelevant.

[-] Doom@ttrpg.network 15 points 2 years ago

This term appeared in the last what like two weeks?

There are posts about it, kids like you running around repeating it and any questions gets you the same four articles slammed in your face.

No, that's coordinated lmfao. Nobody supports Joe that much they just stand against this dividing crumbling party.

It is literally propaganda and I'm pretty sure most of us see that lol

[-] iheartneopets@lemm.ee 4 points 2 years ago

You realize that people only say that stuff to emphasize that it literally doesn't matter what the person running against Trump does, they'll vote for them to keep him out of office, right? It's less a sweeping declaration of loyalty for a political party/cult of personality, and more an affirmation for how badly they want to keep Trump out of office.
