Would I prefer another candidate? Sure. Will I vote for Biden, especially against Trump? With alacrity!

[-] Diplomjodler@feddit.de 3 points 9 months ago

And is that other candidate in the room with us now? I mean seriously, who would it be?

Biden supporters will read a sentence that isn't perfectly worshipful of him, ignore the rest of the comment, and become combative without reading any further.

And tankies will read any sentence that has the word Biden in it and whine and cry until people block them and then blame the other person for being unreasonable.

Bernie Sanders, one of if not the most popular politician in America or AOC who ranks similarly.

Much as I like Bernie, swapping out one geriatric dude for another one isn't really the way to go. And AOC will never be accepted by the Dem establishment.

Yeah, because their age is their only characteristic 🙄

Bernie's policy positions appeal to a much wider range of people, including college students and the working poor who have to overcome a lot of voter suppression in order to vote and thus need more motivation.

Biden's core audience of financially comfortable yoga moms, Blue Dog Democrats and NYT subscribers are guaranteed votes for any presidential candidate with a (D) behind their name, but there's not enough of them to outnumber the crazies guaranteed to vote for the Mango Mussolini.

All I have been hearing for months is how Biden is too old. So convincing people that Bernie isn't too old would be a hard sell.
