Where and when can there be ethical consumption?
Find me an economic system where increasing profits at the expense of everything else isn't the only goal. Probably that one.
I lived in one which ostensibly did not prioritize profits and it sucked. We didn't even have pizza at all, no joke. Pizza wasn't part of the five-year plan, after all.
Where?
Soviet satellite.
I bet there is something in between Late Stage Capitalism USA and past soviet "communism" where workers aren't being exploited.
Edit: how are you liking America and the pizza? Just assuming you've moved somewhere that prioritizes profits so you can enjoy them and the pizza.
From the systems we've seen the European / Nordic model seems like the best compromise that has been tried so far.
I like pizza very much, thanks for asking. In general, I liked US, the natural beauty and diversity of the West is stunning. I also liked the vibe of the people. Public transportation sucks for the most part. Fortunately I didn't have to move, the communist regime "moved".
Exactly. Now stand firm against the "we can't have that here [because made up x y and z reasons]" clowns that will tell you it isn't possible in any other country.
We know it's possible. Especially for the richest nation in the world. The issue is that the richest nation in the world has been bought by the powerful elite and doesn't give a single fuck about the people, because capitalism is busy making shareholders rich.
They still exchange currency for goods and services in Norway. Hell they even pump oil offshore. The difference is that that oil profit literally goes to the benefit of the people.
If there can be no ethical consumption under capitalism and you bought your electronics, electricity and internet service (capitalism) then your commenting here (and all the rest of it) is unethical.
Sorry, but that's how I read your hot take and the hypocrisy is so juicy I couldn't help but comment.
That's the point, dumbass. It's not a "Holier than thou" statement. Funny how you instantly lash out though, almost as if you've been trained.
Call me a dumbass, I'll accept your insults too and the criticism of my ideas because that's fair game. The fact you have to insult me personally and claim I'm 'lashing out' is funny, no?
I'm just commenting on a vague, sweeping comment on an internet forum, not attacking your perspective or person.
I'm still going to call out hypocrisy when I see it. Have a great day <3
Stay obese on propaganda, kiddo.
Edit: don't ever forget you fired this gem first
Lead with condescension and get it in return.
Whatever you say, boss. Have a good evening ❤️
"If there can be no ethical consumption under capitalism and you bought your electronics, electricity and internet service (capitalism) then your commenting here (and all the rest of it) is unethical."
Yes that is precisely what they're saying. It's not hypocritical though.
