MODERATORS
In India, doctors aren't allowed to disclose this info to the parents until the child is born. Yet, female foeticide still exists here, especially in rural India.

Don't people just look at the baby's sex in the sonogram?
Common people don't understand it, doctors are not allowed to disclose. Maybe they also hide some part of the sonogram?
