I dont know why that annoys me. It does annoy me but it shouldn't because at least it has a logic to it.

Is because with it being before, you get to know that the number is for a currency immediately, instead of finding out it's a currency afterwards
Yes, I too deal with amounts of money large enough that I can't see the end when I start reading it!
