That's the standard practice for speeches, where you just power through any mistakes you make while speaking and keep going.
Stopping, or going back to correct the mistake would interrupt the speech more than the mistake did.
Yeah that makes sense. It was just weird to see I guess.
politicians basically just read like AI verbatim anyways.
They're just robots when they're giving speeches.
