Yeah and this is where the rub is I guess. On a PC you can pirate. On a PC you can easily mod. There's a level of freedom that is not gated like on a console.

Historically, consoles have not been cost prohibitive so they're more attractive.

"Wait, I can play God of War and I don't have to pay $1500 for a PC?" (Let's ignore the truth you can build a computer for much cheaper to play games many people don't go that far)

So I'm with you, this is console gamers. Which goes back to my point this is PS (and will be MS and Nintendo soon enough) and industry is going to the death of physical media this is the sad reality. If they want to do that to save costs and have the added benefit to further control their gated ecosystem good on them. You always can go to PC.

I've been a console gamer almost exclusively for 15+ years now (aside from a handful of steam games I can run on a low spec old laptop). Are console gamers really this lazy + entitled?

Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.

No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.

6. No linking to piracy

Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.

We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.
