MODERATORS
On one hand, I get where you're coming from and it's probably the reason they haven't added that functionality. On the other, inventory management just wastes so much time in modern versions of the game. With so many unique items, the time spent rummaging around in shulker boxes in the late game has gotten absurd. At the end of the day, it's just constant tedium that would probably require an enormous redstone computer to address with current technology.
Inventory space is my biggest gripe with minecraft/vintage story/terraria/etc. Why can I carry 64 daisies but only 5 unique flowers? I get not everyone would want a carry weight or volume system but surely there is some middle ground
Bundles are actually really good for this sort of situation, as you can stack all the items that you only have a handful of. They are one of my favorite additions to the game in recent years, and I feel like most people don't appreciate them enough. I even use them in heavily modded playthroughs alongside backpacks!
