Isn't this the guy that said he didn't know his nazi tattoo he got while spreading imperialism and killing brown kids for money was a nazi tattoo and because he's still in the first stage of the Fetterman Tactic™ everyone moved on and pretended he was totally reformed from being a nazi-tattoo wearing storm trooper that definitely killed brown children for money?

[-] TheGoldenV@lemmy.world 27 points 6 days ago

Ok.

So I guess we’ll just have Sue again then? Or are you planning on running or supporting someone better?

No? Just shitting then?

Ok.

[-] vagrancyand@sh.itjust.works 7 points 6 days ago

So the answer to 'hey this guy is a nazi who likes killing children' is 'HURRRRRRRR BUT ARE YOU GOING TO RUN INSTEAD, NO? WELL WE JUST HAVE TO HAVE A NAZI THEN HURRRRRRRR'

Fascinating how the far-right mind works.

[-] TheGoldenV@lemmy.world 32 points 6 days ago

Yep, kinda thought you were ridiculous. Thanks for removing any doubt.

[-] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 5 days ago

its not ridiculous to oppose imperialism and nazism even if there is no electoral opponent with winnign chances currently thats silly talk. Stop defending imperialism so you can get more of a cut of the benefits you ghoul.

Enjoy being bewildered by him voting along side trump 90% of the time by his 6 month mark while upvoting posts with the tagline 'how could we have possibly seen this coming... again... for the 20th time in the last two election cycles.'

[-] TheGoldenV@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago

Dude. Just put the meth down already. It’s bad for your health.

[-] vagrancyand@sh.itjust.works 5 points 6 days ago

Hey maybe I'm wrong and this won't be yet another '"progressive" cishet white guy with a clear history of far-right behavior and beliefs that turns out to just be far right and not reformed.' I'd be happy if that were the case. Hasn't been so far but hey I'm rooting for you guys. Maybe you guys can reform.

[-] gdog05@lemmy.world 11 points 6 days ago

It's smart to be skeptical but not to be ridiculous.

[-] vagrancyand@sh.itjust.works 6 points 6 days ago

I'm pretty sure 'ridiculous' doesn't enter into it when the dude had a nazi tattoo.

[-] gdog05@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago

I saw the tattoo. I never would have thought it was Nazi. Sleazy biker trash, absolutely. I had to read up on it to know it was Nazi. And I was raised on The Discovery and History channels. So I'm not without some knowledge on the topic. It was an absolutely stupid decision but from what I've seen, tattoos before your mid thirties almost always are.

"Cishet White Guy"

And there you have it.

The real problem this person has with Platner.

[-] vagrancyand@sh.itjust.works 3 points 5 days ago

Not every cishet white guy, but it's always a cishet white guy. Sometimes you get a mixed white guy, but still white.

His entire campaign has shown that being a progressive actually works against him, not for him. He's just fortunate to have landed at a point in time when Democrats and Republicans are lockstep in letting billionaires loot the country and the working class to a previously unimaginable degree.

But cool.

Sure.

Give us the old bitch in the governor's office who is 100% a-okay with your family being unable to feed itself and opposed a data center ban. They can prop her up like McConnell until she's literally unable to speak, if by some miracle she beats Collins at all. (Unlikely when she's on the wrong side of every issue with what voters want at the moment.)

[-] BedSharkPal@lemmy.ca 17 points 6 days ago

I get where you are coming from. But the idea doesn't jive with his leaked Reddit account and the posts he made. Dude is a Bernie bro in the best possible way.

[-] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 5 days ago

who defends imperialism whenever possible and promises to continue who literally signed up to kill people for fun

[-] BedSharkPal@lemmy.ca 10 points 5 days ago

He defends imperialism in what way? I'm not sure we're talking about the same person at this point

[-] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 5 days ago

He supports the current military budget and joined to kill people serving four tours and then serving as a mercenary for the excitement of killing people. He argues for massive shipbuilding buildup to "combat china", he supports extended benefits for military members to increase recruitment and on and on. He is not quiet about this his main problem with the current military isn't its action but what he views as waster and bad spending.

[-] BedSharkPal@lemmy.ca 5 points 5 days ago

He advocates for redirecting funds from military operations to domestic needs, citing the billions spent on endless wars while domestic healthcare and housing systems struggle.

The ship building stuff seems to be more around instead of having China build them, build them in America.

He seems pretty darn anti-war and anti-interventionist from what I've heard from him in interviews.

[-] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 5 days ago

No he frames it as a strategy to encircle china in the pacific you are just ignoring his military support

[-] BedSharkPal@lemmy.ca 3 points 5 days ago

I mean you're ignoring the things that come out of his mouth and his comment history.

I get the paranoia. I think you might be taking it too far though.

[-] FreddiesLantern@leminal.space 15 points 6 days ago

I dunno, wouldn’t the right wing media leave him alone then?

[-] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 5 days ago

No? He's an imperialist but some of his "domestic" policies aren't in alignment with the republicans? Thats not hard to look at

[-] vagrancyand@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago

I'm not sure I understand what point you could possibly be making about the nazi you are implicitly supporting with this comment?

[-] FreddiesLantern@leminal.space 10 points 6 days ago

I’m saying if he’s about to pull a fetterman, wouldn’t the right be letting him fly under the radar?

[-] vagrancyand@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago

That's the opposite of how they treated fetterman so why would they do that in this case? Fetterman was constantly lambasted by right-wing media when he was still stage one fetterman. If there were some precedent for your idea that right-wing media is competent enough to have a conspiracy like that I might agree with you; but lets be honest they're not.

[-] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

Couldn't care less if he's not learned on symbology.

I care that he thinks people should actually be able to earn a living wage in this country; something apparently no other Democrat is willing to commit to, sans Bernie.
