I was struggling to think of something but this is a very good shout (although I suppose it's technically not the entire series, just some of the seasons from it). Even Season 4 was okay in it's own way, it just wasn't Season 1 again which is what a large chunk of the fanbase of that show seems to want and expect.
Season 4 kicks ass! It's way better than 2 and 3. Do people not like it?
Season 4 was great! I think it excelled because it didn't try to recreate the chemistry between the characters of s1. It did its own thing, and did it extremely well!

That line the lady gives in the last episode "So we decided to tell our own story." Straight chills. The whole season was worth it for that one line.I thought it received pretty mixed reviews. Again, not sure how much of that was "Season 4 is bad" vs "Season 4 is not Season 1".
We didn't want season 1 again, we wanted something as good as season 1 again.
Season 1 of that show set an insanely high bar, it's pretty close to perfect television. I try to avoid comparisons for that reason.
Except for the ending.
I know right? It lost a lot with that lacklustre finish.
First time I watched it I was positive that Rust was going to give them that same speech he does, and then the others walk away and Rust looks up into the night sky and he can see that spiral vortex that he saw in Carcosa, filling the heavens and reflected in his eyes.
Like, c'mon, it writes itself!
