I mean, obviously people care, but I think there are a lot of comfortable cis-het liberals who aren't as willing to go to the mattresses for their neighbors as they should be.
It took them decades just to support gay marriage, going to take them longer to support our trans comrades
I think most people kinda just go with the flow on social issues. Which means they will probably just interact with you like a human being, but not go out of their way to do something special. And honestly....I just wanna be treated as normal, haha. I still wish certain portions of the US were more chill and disinterested in us (cough cough, inland and southern states)
This is so frustrating.
I'm a staunch ally even though I'm not lgbtq+ myself and regularly get into arguments with people in my social circles regarding this issue.
The most annoying take people have is "I support everyone's right to live their life as they wish so I won't take a stance either way".
Like... Are you even hearing what you are saying?!
