He's literally called for attacks on trans people as well as other marginalized groups. He was one of many who were laughing at assaults on liberals and the left. He and others have actively caused harm and death.

This is too violent, too awful for the country I grew up in. I am sad not because I give a shit about a dirtbag like Kirk, but that we are now losing Rule of Law and the social contract. We are falling as a nation, and this is just one more domino in that process. They made this world for us but they're not the only ones who are going to suffer from it.
This is what happens when violent and hateful rhetoric is allowed to be aired freely under the guise of "good Christian values", while voices calling for checks notes being nice to other people are silenced. We all know that sowing division absolutely rakes in the profits, so do the math on who benefits from that.
This is not a right or left issue. This is the tolerant refusing to tolerate the intolerant after nothing else has worked.
The last chance to recover this was gone when Biden failed to uphold it against Trump and his followers after Jan. 6. Now Trump is back and throwing the last vestiges of law and order away. You need to accept that we're not going to vote our way back to normalcy.

Every time something like this happens, I honestly wonder how many people are actually this clueless and how many are just astroturfing/trolls working on behalf of the right and this administration to spread disinformation and outrage propaganda. Funny you bring up this guy going to Nuremberg bc I was actually just thinking the other day how different history might have turned out of we'd actually put the major players like Hitler or Mussolini on trial in front of the rest of the world.
Obviously this was a case of vigilante justice. But the man made his whole living trying to incite genocide against innocent people. The US government just blew up a boat full of Venezuelans, murdering them without trial, on the accusation of them being drug smugglers. Our closest ally, Israel, routinely executes people without trial for doing far less than what Kirk did.
The 2nd Amendment is always cited as being to protect against tyranny. That obviously entails extrajudicial violence. If there is ever a valid use for extrajudicial violence, it's in the prevention of genocide. The president will do all the evil he was going to do anyway. But he's a fascist, of course he's going to do that.

yep, it was perfect timing. well, technically, he was just starting to run away towards racism (the bullet hit when he was trying to pivot to gang violence to avoid answering how many cishet white boys do shootings a year).
The important takeaway here is, we know he'd be happy to have been shot. I think that victim statement should be taken into account in the eventual trial.
It's just... too poetic. I wish we weren't here as a country, and that's so heartbreaking, but we've been heading here for years if not decades.
