Sure is a good thing we didn't put those gEnOcIdAl Democrats in office, huh?

Have some respect for palestinians getting genocidal instead of defending the two cultist parties. Condemn israel instead and keep boycotting it

[-] lennybird@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Like Nougat, I have enough respect and logic to be able to distinguish the Greater from the Lesser Poison for Palestinians in what was a binary choice.

More frankly: Anyone who espoused couch-sitting and MUh boTH sIdEz false equivalence fallacies are complicit in Israel's genocide because any rational person could see Israel would be more constrained by Democrats, while Bibi and AIPAC obviously preferred Trump and Republicans winning.

Also, this isn't to mention they're complicit in worsening Russia's attempted genocide in Ukraine.

Edit: Very stable folks replying, lol.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 28 points 3 days ago

While you guys cry about your cult losing to the other cult . Other people keep fighting ,protesting, boycotting etc. You guys have zero respect you are just cultists

Rational people know that the billions of dollars that Israel get from the USA is that enabling the genocide. Only fools would believe that democrats would have stopped it. Only fools would think that dems and republicans would have constrained israel.

Netanyahu is a snake he thanked both Trump and Biden when it suited him. Netanyahu supported trump vocally more because it would create an illusion of change

[-] prole 6 points 3 days ago

There's no fucking cult here, dude. It's called logic and rationality.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago

Logic say if you vote for parties that gives billions to israel you are complicit. Nobody give a famn about your excuses. Keep crying about trump instead of fighting him

Odds are high this is being brigaded by tankies or far-right astroturfers. They truly do Bibi proud by enabling his favorite pick in the White House while trying to sow defeatism and apathy while giving no constructive pragmatic alternative solution.

Edit: Case-in-point. This person is programmed to wedge-drive Democrats while ignoring the elephant in the room, the bigger fish — the PRIMARY choice of Netanyahu. Objective bystanders take note the obvious fact that genocide is no simply boolean but a gradient, and MORE people not LESS will die under Trump. Instead, they were wasting time promoting mUh BoTh SiDeS False Equivalence logical fallacies, lapping up the Russian and AIPAC kool-aid and playing right into their hands. Bibi and Trump thank you for your service.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Defeatism is people like you who still cry about Harris losing instead of fighting him and keep promoting protests and BDS. You didn't have even enough self respect to call out Israel atrocities and mourning the dead Palestinians

[-] lennybird@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

lol none of this changes what I already wrote whatsoever. I can rest my case here if nothing substantive to add. Blood on your hands as you dream of this magical fairy-tale land of a 3rd viable option.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 21 points 3 days ago

Blood on the hand of democrats and republicans who vote for aipac candidates that send billions to israel, financing their genocide while the USA keep getting worse. If all third party voters voted for Harris she would still lost.

This genocide would also be happening if Harris was president, nothing has changed.

The only difference would be that every Democrat would be supporting the genocide in lock step, rather than what's happening now with Democrats finally speaking out.

Trump brings out the best in Democrats.

[-] 5in1k@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 days ago

Yeah, democrats, very known for lockstep thinking…

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 14 points 3 days ago

Were you alive when Biden was president and he was the one working hand in glove with Israel to conduct the genocide?

We're watching the same Democrats that supported the genocide under Biden suddenly pivot under Trump.

[-] rockSlayer 24 points 3 days ago

What part of Harris' platform leads you to believe she would have done anything different? Because her entire platform was keeping things the same and advocating for Israel's "right to defend itself". She was just as genocidal as the next candidate.

[-] chaogomu@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

Trump entered office under a Biden negotiated ceasefire. Trump then told Netenyahu to go ahead and ignore the ceasefire.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago

The cease fire was always an illusion, israel is determined to do it's final solution and they are no reason to stop because the usa regardless of who is the president gives billions to iarael and provide diplomatic protection

[-] rockSlayer 11 points 3 days ago

How does that negate anything I said? A less genocidal candidate is still a genocidal candidate. There is no "lesser evil" to genocide, only depths of depravity

[-] prole 4 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Absolute fucking madness. Not even worth engaging at this point. Yeah dude Kamala would be talking about building luxury hotels on the rubble of Gaza.

Unless you're a literal child, and 2024 was not only your first election, but the first time you've paid attention to any of it, then you've got no excuse (beyond attempting to absolve yourself from the guilt you feel deep down).

[-] SwingingTheLamp@midwest.social 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Here's the crux of the difference of opinion: No, Pres. Harris would not have been talking about luxury hotels on the rubble of Gaza. Israel, however, has been talking about it for years. The U.S. President has very little influence over Israeli intentions, and whether the U.S. President talks about it sounds like an objection based on style rather than substance.
