It is really weird Cuomo had to resign because he sexually assaulted people yet he is back running for office. Did everyone forget?
He's the only candidate that can properly facilitate the NYC elite's corruption. Eric Adams proved himself too self-interested and vastly incompetent in facilitating corruption. Mamdani is seen as ideologically hostile to the process (also Sliwa).
Honestly, probably.
When I ran into someone collecting signatures for Cuomo on the street before the primary, I was like "didn't he resign in disgrace?" I'd forgotten the details until I looked them up again. I think most people don't bother to look things up, or don't know how to
People have short memories, that's how Trump got elected again, people forgot what a shitshow his first administration was. (Democrats being incompetent didn't help either, obviously).
Fur some people that's a feature not a fault
That is exactly what he was hoping would happen. He doesn't read the room, he just demands power until his financial backing runs out.
I won't beat around the bush by saying this. The New York establishment Democrats are blue Republicans. It is noticeable that underprivileged areas voted for Cuomo in the Democratic primary.
First part absolutely true. Second part problematic, the Republican enclaves of NYC are not the underprivileged areas and Republican-leaning voters can't participate in the Democratic primary unless they register as Democrat in advance. Underprivileged areas voted Cuomo because they're conditioned to vote for candidates they see as "safe" - A lot of them are black boomers who've seen some shit and feel like they owe their safety to the Democratic establishment - And because of low information.
What about Adams?
