How did you identify it? I didn't catch this one and I want to get better at it

[-] irelephant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 23 hours ago

Piss filter, distinct style.

[-] koetje78@feddit.nl 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

The style used did it for me. It seems distinct for at least one popular engine (chatgpt?) as it pops up everywhere. Especially the face and hands.

[-] MangoPenguin 28 points 1 day ago

They all have this exact art style, you'll start to see it everywhere.

it just the default gpt art style.

[-] argarath@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I've luckily not seen it before, I guess my little bubble has very little AI content? Most of the memes I see are the typical old web nonsense so maybe it is indeed luck

[-] turdburglar@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago

uniform line weight, creamy yellow ground, font and text placement.

[-] argarath@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

The font and text placement are indeed really big giveaways, I thought it was weird that the text didn't follow the angle of the drawing, and the font is so uninspiring and meh, also the line thickness, that's so true too!! Thank you!!!!

pay attention to how intentional things are. nothing in this picture is motivated. the man has his arm raised, but not in a welcoming manner, more like he's saying hi. he also isnt looking at the viewer. there is also no discernable landmark or important features. the only other thing is a bus, which doesnt have a door on the right, which i dont know about you, but every bus ive seen in north America has the door on the right.

a real advertisement for Canada would likely ask you to visit or experience something about Canada, like a national park or iconic building in a city, or have a recognizable public figure. it absolutely would not bring up something objectively negative like being deported in the same space as an invitation to visit.

all im saying is that, there is a basic language to art and this reads like an alien that is aware that there are rules but does not understand why there are rules nor how they operate

[-] Droggelbecher@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

While I know this is slop and think your explanations for why you can tell are sound. You're mixing in arguments for why this couldn't be a real ad, and that's a separate argument. I think the assumption is much more likely to be that it's a human made meme and not a real ad.

[-] burgerpocalyse@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago

I'm trying to make the case that it is too clean looking to be made by an amateur and also too alien to be made by a human

[-] argarath@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I did not think about the landmark thing!!! That's such a good point!!! I honestly read the hand position as a polite "hey there" but that might be my autism, but it does make sense what you said!! Thank you I'll try to see the bigger "picture" of what the intent of a piece would be and if the drawing is actually attempting to do it, that's a really good point and something AI will not be able to fulfill any time soon!

[-] TheGuyTM3@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago

All the AI drawings have a grainy piss-yellow tone, idk why but it makes the identification easier

[-] argarath@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Huh I'll def keep that in mind!! I didn't hear about that before, thank you!!!

[-] absentbird@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Who has ever seen a yellow Canada tour bus? Pretty much the only yellow busses in US and Canada are for school.

[-] argarath@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I've never seen Canadian buses, I thought it was another thing they copied from the US, they are influenced by them a lot and I've never been to Canada myself so I couldn't know, but it makes sense

[-] dickalan@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Not to shame you, but how could you not, first thing I was going to say was get this fucking AI bullshit off this website but said it for me

[-] argarath@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I had my suspicions, but I also thought "is this really AI or someone who isn't good at drawing?" I'm a furry so I see a lot of people who draw, but don't do it that well and sometimes the drawings look clean, but clearly fucked up because the artist doesn't know what they're doing, and with digital media you can use tools to draw perfect circles and smooth lines to hide the lack of experience and knowledge super easily

[-] dickalan@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I sent them a simple private message that says AI slop is gross

[-] argarath@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Weird, I haven't gotten the message yet, I wonder if my app is missing that feature, I'll look into it, thanks!
