He won with a majority the second time through. This isn't a fight Americans lost.
Meanwhile, in France: French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday congratulated "President Donald Trump", saying he was ready to work with the US vote frontrunner "with respect and ambition" like "we managed to do for four years".
I mean, maybe this was 11D chess to give Airbus monopoly status in the global civilian aircraft market. But on its face that looks like the French taking a huge L.
That's what politicians do, especially if they don't like the winner. Yeah of course Macron thinks trump is a petulant man child, but it doesn't make sense to needlessly antagonise people as unstable as trump.
It's like if you're walking down the road and see a crack head, you're not going to flip them off and call them a twat. Because A: they might attack you and B: having a reputation as someone who is easy to get along with is a good thing.
I remember when people used to say that about Vladimir Putin
The difference is that Putin isn't unstable. He's just a dick. Everything he does is deliberate and as such it doesn't make any sense to be nice. He doesn't care and is going to do what he wants regardless.
