Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

You know what would work even better? Unseating Republicans so they don't have a bicameral majority.
We can and must do both at the same time
You're right, we need both. The key to unseating Republicans is Democrats that are worth at least half a shit.
If we can have a progressive takeover of the democratic party like the magas did to the republican party, our democracy may still have a decent chance
To be perfectly honest, I’ve come to the conclusion that the Democratic Party is more or less a lost cause at this point.
The months leading up to the election, the reaction to the loss, and the essential capitulation of DNC leadership in these last couple of months have, to me, proven that they’re manifestly entirely incompetent, and completely unfit for service, especially in such harrowing times. The “opposition” party has sold us down the river and is effectively helping the fascists dismantle the government.
I am unable to effectively express the level of incandescent fury and bone-deep anguish that this feckless ineptitude makes me feel, and I believe that a HUGE number of people in this country feel the same way.
I would further like to note that this whole shitshow of a last year - Biden just… Biden-ing his way into destroying his political legacy and losing the republic, and Democratic/DNC leadership just completely shitting the bed and making REAMS of unforced errors in so many crucial and existential contexts - has convinced me that the Democratic Party is itself a spoiler party, and not genuine opposition. Add that to the fact that I don’t expect the FEC to try to enforce any semblance of fairness going forward, and any objection I have previous had to people (including myself) voting 3p is completely gone. If Sanders and AOC and others who actually appear to give a shit just say “fuck it” and spin up a new party, I would vote for it in a heartbeat.
