Summary

Donald Trump has amended his lawsuit against CBS, doubling the damages sought to $20 billion.

He also added Texas Congressman Ronny Jackson, his former White House doctor, as a co-plaintiff to keep the suit before a Trump-appointed judge in Texas.

He claims CBS deceptively edited Kamala Harris’ “60 Minutes” interview to make her appear more coherent, allegedly influencing the 2024 election and harming his Truth Social platform.

Filed in Texas, the suit alleges violations of the Lanham Act and Texas consumer protection laws.

CBS argues that the Lanham Act and Texas statute only govern commercial speech, not political or editorial speech, and has moved to dismiss the lawsuit.

Absolute gold right here:

her habit of uttering ‘word salads’ — i.e., jumbles of exceptionally incoherent speech..."

Is this projection or is he too dumb to understand what she says?

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

Fascists accuse their enemy of what they are doing so when the tables are turned they call petty retaliation regardless of reality.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 3 points 1 year ago

I mean, it would take a fair amount of cognitive dissonance to suggest Kamala does not speak in word salads a lot of the time. She’s a terrible speaker

[-] Psythik@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Not from what I've seen.

Fuck off with your pro-MAGA bullshit. This isn't YouTube; we're not falling for it.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago

Lol… ok lemmy.world

[-] MothmanDelorian@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

No, she doesn’t. You might be having trouble following her though that would be a you problem

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago

Hate to break it to you but it’s the politicians job to communicate and be understood,

It’s interesting that y’all are unable to even see obvious facts about the loser dem candidate,

Kamala is a shitty public speaker…. She just is. Obama, for example, is probably one of the best public speakers / presidential orators in our lifetime….

Trump can’t even form complete sentences…

But on the scale of good speakers versus bad speakers, Kamala is a shitty public speaker. It’s laughable to suggest otherwise.

[-] MothmanDelorian@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

It might be their job to be understood but that does not mean that when someone cannot understand the politician that it is always the politician’s fault. Sometimes the person listening has the problem.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago

This is an echo chamber for blue MAGA I don’t really care. Keep believing your false narrative I suppose you do you

[-] MothmanDelorian@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Is it that hard for you to accept that your opinion isn’t factual and I disagree with you about Harris’ speaking skills?

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago

Well she’s a horrible candidate who handed Trump a victory…. Believe whatever you want like I said…

[-] MothmanDelorian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Funny I thought Trump won by convincing more voters

It’s all you can expect from the bOtH siDeS groupies.

[-] StupidBrotherInLaw@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

It's fun asking them to prove it. They never seem to be able to, as this absolute broomstick has again shown.

Make sides less important with state level electoral reform. People should be free to vote for who best represents them while still counting their vote if their preference didn't win.

Videos on Electoral Reform

First Past The Post voting (What most states use now)

Videos on alternative electoral systems we can try out.

STAR voting

Alternative vote

Ranked Choice voting

Range Voting

Single Transferable Vote

Mixed Member Proportional representation

The solution is more democracy, not telling people they get no choice in the matter.

Any updates on your electoral reform campaign in your state Rhoeri?

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago

Um, have you actually seen her speak

[-] FinalRemix@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

So you can't point to an example. Got it.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 1 points 1 year ago

Anyway, keep crying about maga I guess… don’t look inwards to understand why the shitty dem candidate lost. It’s definitely the independent and progressives fault. And besides, everyone who disagrees with you is a fascist and a racist.

[-] StupidBrotherInLaw@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

So you can't answer. I'm not even from the US and know better. What's your excuse?

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I don’t need an excuse to point out the obvious fact that Kamala Harris is a terrible orator who can’t talk her way out of a cardboard box if it’s not a rehearsed talking point on a teleprompter. She’s looks genuinely uncomfortable when speaking in public. If you can’t see it and you think that makes me a maga you need to get some new glasses lol. You drank way too much blue no matter who kool aid.

[-] StupidBrotherInLaw@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

If it's so obvious, why are you unable to provide a single example?

[-] MothmanDelorian@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Yes, multiple times, why haven’t you considered the problem might be you?

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago

You can ad hominem attack me all you want but shitty democrat candidate with shitty policy’s lost the election.

And blaming the voters for your shitty candidate losing instead of the shitty candidate is going to be another losing strategy.

[-] MothmanDelorian@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

That’s not an ad hominem. Your ability to follow her speech is directly relevant to your perception that she is unskilled at speaking. I am directly addressing a flaw in your thinking and that isn’t an example of ad hominem as in this case it is germane to the topic at hand.

This is no different than me saying Macron was a bad speaker and you pointing out my belief that he’s a bad speaker might have something to do with the fact that Im not a french speaker. Neither is an example of ad hominem

[-] CouncilOfFriends@slrpnk.net 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength

[-] Soulg@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 year ago

She was perfectly coherent in the 60 minutes interview.

[-] MellowYellow13@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago
