Conspiracy theory people pride themselves on "knowing" something that others don't. It gives them a sense of superiority to everyone else because of that "knowledge"
Hard to blame them when "hermit who was right all along" is such a dope lifestyle
Problem is that people seem to be more intent on being right all the time instead of the hermit lifestyle part. Which means we get way more exposure to people who think they're right all the time.
