Summary

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz dismissed Elon Musk's personal insults but expressed deep concern over Musk's public endorsement of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

The AfD, monitored for ties to right-wing extremism, supports pro-Russia policies and weakening transatlantic alliances.

Musk's endorsement, published in a German newspaper, sparked backlash, including the resignation of the paper’s opinion editor.

Scholz, facing a February election after his coalition government collapsed, criticized Musk’s interference, as AfD gains popularity despite other parties refusing to cooperate with them.

We're getting to a point where I would get angry if anyone I knew would buy a Tesla.

I assume anyone who owns a Tesla is a Nazi until proven otherwise. With how dangerous those cars are, it's for the better anyway
