Perfect demonstration of the man's arrogance:

  • On the one hand, lowering the flags for thirty days upon the death of an American president is customary.
  • On the other hand, flying the flag at full staff to celebrate the American democracy upon inauguration day also makes sense, regardless of which president is sworn in,

So here we have two equally valid symbolic gestures that can't happen at the same time: either you show respect for a departed former POTUS or you celebrate the inauguration of a new POTUS. Which would you choose?

Most people would choose to show respect for the former POTUS, the new POTUS would rather show respect for himself, even if it means disrespecting his predecessor.

Also, most people wouldn't fret over such petty details and would let it slide. Hell, even if they didn't like it, at least it's an opportunity to grab a few karma points looking falsely respectful.

But not Trump.
Trump only thinks about Trump.
All the time.

It's unashamedly crass and egotistical, and completely telling of the man's ugly personality.

And not a single Magoo ever sees or accepts this reality. It's absolutely astounding how blind they can be to a person that is so openly "themselves" right in front of you. :/

Being shameless is and never will be a superpower.

If a sane person won the election, it would be a perfect time to talk about Carter.

"I look around today and see our wonderful flag flying half mast. President Carter would have loved knowing that our great nation was under good footing. These flags, while in mourning, also fly proudly, for the rights and liberties that it so humbly represents."

Instead, we'll get some ChInA fLaGs or other equally racist shit.
