People said the same ignorant things about monarchy/feudalism as we hear people saying about capitalism now.

Stop thinking we can fix the system because we can't. The system itself is the problem.

Not looking to start a debate, and as an anarchist I've come to a pretty solid conclusion that election isn't going to fix anything, but I also see the point that Trump and his supporters are more extreme fascists than the obvious fascist currently in office.

But it's not like we have time to deal with incremental change like the liberals think. Our planet is dying, people are being killed, tortured, imprisoned, and displaced by our current leadership and system. So how can I validate that?

I'd love to hear some thoughts because I honestly don't know what to do.

Keep in mind I've had family deported under Biden who continues to double down on his support for border fascism and his dissemination of the myth of a "border crisis." Keep in mind that people may have friends and loved ones who've died or been displaced in Palestine due to Biden's support for the genocidal state of Israel.

And please avoid telling me that Trump is un-American or that he wants to destroy America, because that honestly sounds like you're heaping praise on him.

I'd like to know how/if you think I should vote, but also what more urgent action we can take because we're not going to make it at this rate, no matter which rich white dude ends up in office.

I'm so opinionated at times, but trying to circle back to the questions and remain open to exploring answers without leaning on "this text says..." or "that person addressed..." but it's uncomfortable.

Not sure if this is the right community to post this, but I'll give it a shot.

One of my very good friends is planning on going into the Navy in about a year. He's generally a moderate left leaning kinda guy, but is trans. He comes from a navy family which is part of the reason he decided to go in the first place. He's going into mechanics and stuff and not combat which is slightly better I guess, but it's very concerning to me that he's planning on joining especially because he's trans. I also feel that ethically, actively participating in that system is bad.

How can I dissuade him from joining? I don't wanna go full force argument mode because it's ultimately his choice but I would like advice on how to softly nudge him away from it without affecting our friendship negatively. Thanks.

Posting blatantly fascist remarks like "at least it's [insert marginalized groups here] who are being murdered and not me" will get you permabanned with no appeal.

When you comment, please imagine a Palestinian, an immigrant, an LGBTQIA+ person, a BIPOC, or some other marginalized group will see it. That should provide a good litmus test for whether what you're about to comment is wildly offensive.

The liberals are already gloating that roughly 70% of their party believes the fascist lie of a "border crisis," so that makes it clear that Democrats are not opposed to these atrocities, as we've been led to believe. Just more liberal lies.

But they'll sure blame us when Biden loses, even though they are discounting us now...
