Huh. I've played around with D a few years ago.. don't exactly remember his opinions coming to light, but I can't say I'm surprised either.

So many things already mentioned, I guess the most original thing I can say would be Nushell :)

Gleam also maybe?

It does not. The fingerprint always only unlocks the device's HSM ("secure enclave" in Apple speak).

Between your devices enrolled in the ecosystem, private keys are synced securely (AFAIK, they make it so that an existing device’s HSM encrypts keys using the pubkey of the new one’s HSM); for signing up using your device on someone else's computer there's a process that combines QR codes with Bluetooth communication.

??? Channels are literally public by definition and viewable even without an account. That's the whole point of channels. They're more like blogs than messages.

Njalla is bad because you don’t actually own the domain and there have been instances of them shutting down / revoking access?

Haven't heard of them revoking access for any legitimate users. I like not actually owning the domain because this means not ever seeing a fucking form asking for my literal home address.

Huh. Thanks. I don't think I've had this problem with all kbin instances…

You can actually literally watch marcan/lina/(more rarely)alyssa from asahi work on livestreams :) No, they don't actually do that kind of clean-room. There's no issue with learning about how the hardware works and directly applying that to writing drivers! Hardware and drivers aren't even comparable, they're complementary. One basically cannot infringe on the other. They mostly avoid touching Apple drivers, but even when they've had to poke at them it kinda just wasn't a big deal IIRC.

Clean-room techniques come from actually cloning very similar things. Basically the original Phoenix BIOS cloning IBM. As a more recent example Wine/ReactOS.

Why are people talking about kbin as if it was a separate universe?? I don't see the point of hosting both platforms, it would be like if you added Akkoma in addition to Calckey

I can just buy estradiol in a pharmacy no questions asked (VAMOS ARGENTINA CARAJOOO) but people in most countries—especially in Europe—can't. Prescription means really require a prescription over there, and it's not all informed consent there, there are often horrid waiting lists or requirements and so on.

So people do order online, and there are very reputable vendors like Otokonoko who make their own stuff, as well as services that just get officially made product from pharmacies in countries where it is de facto over-the-counter and shipping is cheap/easy (namely Turkey).

There was a long long list of these somewhere…

Have to shout out https://github.com/pjasicek/OpenClaw for the best childhood era platformer :D
