What's "Taiwan's advice"? What did Taiwan tell China about Russia?

Ikr, it's trying so hard to sound formal. Maybe they think this will make the rule seem more authoritative

wow it even threatens to take away your photos or notes if you get caught

AAAAXY. AAAAXY is a nonlinear 2D puzzle platformer taking place in impossible spaces. You can take a walk on a Möbius strip, try to find the platform with your train at the train station, and play a piano that makes the Shepard tone. It will be a bit confusing at first, but I promise it will eventually get fun.

It's not on Steam, but it's available for download on the website for free. Linux, Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. Also on F-Droid and FlatHub. give it a try im begging you

Before I read this article, I also thought it would be a great idea to get rid of timezones entirely and just use UTC for everything. To quote from the link, (please forgive me for being lazy and not formatting it correctly)

Abolishing time zones brings many benefits, I hope. It also:

  • causes the question "What time is it there?" to be useless/unanswerable
  • necessitates significant changes to the way in which normal people talk about time
  • convolutes timetables, where present
  • means "days" (of the week) are no longer the same as "days"
  • complicates both secular and religious law
  • is a staggering inconvenience for a minimum of five billion people
  • makes it near-impossible to reason about time in other parts of the world
  • does not mean everybody gets up at the same time, goes to work at the same time, or goes to bed at the same time
  • is not simpler.

As long as humans live in more than one part of the world, solar time is always going to be subjective. Abolishing time zones only exacerbates this problem.

Remove text on TPE phone case? (lemmy.frozeninferno.xyz)
submitted 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) by randint@lemmy.frozeninferno.xyz to c/asklemmy@lemmy.ml

Hi. When I got a new phone a couple weeks ago, it came with this really nice, name-brand (not giving names here) phone case. It's really rugged and feels great on the hands. It's also one of the most premium phone-case options out there.

Unfortunately, the case is plastered with the text: Pixel. The only phone engineered by Google. I really don't enjoy being a walking advertisement for Google, but leaving such a great case lying around is quite a pity.

So I wanted to ask if there's a way to remove the text that would not damage the case itself?

The case is made of TPE plastic according to its packaging. I thought about just scratching it off cause it does seem to be some kind of layer on top of the case, but I'm worried it won't be removed cleanly and might even leave behind scratches.

Is there another way? Is there some kind of solvent able to do this job?

Here's a closeup if that helps.

Thanks!

Edit: I have decided to uncensor the words.

That got me. It really does sound like what a "lawyer" would write.

Gee, people in the US need to be this cautious when protesting? Where I live it's totally fine to just casually show up at protests, take selfies, talk to people and whatnot.

Image description: A picture of a bald man in his 40s. The man is hugging a pan tightly and affectionately and smiling as if having this pan were all he could ever ask for. The pan is a grill pan, which is square in shape and has ridges on its bottom. This picture is printed on a door in a mall.

Yes, they've been saying that since forever.

Severance is great. I watched it on my 3-month trial to Apple TV.

I tried to preach why Google sharing your browsing history with ad partners is bad, but most of my friends don't seem to care. :(

My favorite is the last one. Not the one on the left, but this one:

Me too! I was thinking, "Why would any brand rebrand themselves to Mud? That is even worse than Twitter rebranding to X!"
