The Shakers at least contributed some good hymns (and some sturdy furniture) to posterity. if these guys ever get off the ground they'll produce nothing but empty cans of energy drink and racist AI memes

If you were someone who believed in IQ like a religion, but had just made a stupid and costly mistake, I would hope you'd take a second to think. Maybe IQ isn't everything, and it's definitely not the only thing, that makes people successful or unsuccessful.

Instead he busts out a slur and jokes about having an IQ of 26

The actual Vatican seems to use its own .va domain name, which neatly sidesteps the .com vs .org dilemma.....but doesn't explain why they let randomers use catholic.com and catholic.org.

Isn't this just how every tech company starts out? Google just want to help you find things on the web. Facebook just wants you to help connect with friends. We are very serious people doing serious work for humanity and you need to listen to us, and possibly give us things for free. It's all about positioning.

Way before Disney. Le Corbusier. The Garden City movement. It goes back to the Renaissance, really.

Napoleon III appointed Haussmann to redesign Paris, and he did a good job (although some aspects of the design were intended to prevent civil unrest). But Paris was already a major city. They didn't decide to build a totally new capital 60 miles from Paris. I guess St. Petersburg is a closer analogy?
