Spotify is garbage. You pay them to basically pirate unlimited music (they pay table scraps). They have no values or integrity, but they do have a greedy business model.
I buy albums off bandcamp instead. Or from the artist's site directly.
Therapy is never a cure. If you have a problem then therapy can help you confront it and deal with it, but if we have a massive society-wide mental health crisis it will not be solved by each man individually seeking therapy.
We need meaning in our lives, something worth dedicating ourselves to, and the means to pursue it. Mercenary capitalism won't provide that.
In short, I don't see an answer. I think it will get worse.

Most importantly, this new wave of mental health problems is not caused by a new wave of "not being vulnerable." It's a societal issue and must be confronted there, not shunted onto each individual man.

You're right, the existence of a tool justifies any abusive use of the tool. Every instance should block every community and we should all get our own private instances and block each other.

Today I installed Windows on my laptop and then I visited Reddit without being logged in. The two experiences are very similar.
I usually use Linux, so installing a new OS is really clean. You just end up with an empty operating system and you can do whatever you want.
But while installing Windows the damn program kept asking me for information and pressuring me into giving up my email address and phone number. Then when I finally got in, it's full of apps like fucking D!sney and Sp0tify... GTFO.
Then I go on Reddit, which I usually think of as a place where people post funny paragraphs and interesting questions... BUT NO... now it's just a splash page full of pictures and ads and other bullshit.
I know that you already know this, but it's sooo annoying and ugly.
They're still bad people, but this kind of blame has to run uphill. The devs only have the option of quitting, not necessarily of not doing what they're told.
That being said, I bet there are some Very Good Boys who enthusiastically and proactively suggest some evil shit to the execs.
