Because he's only a free speech absolutist for himself and for people who agree with him

I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that Flatpak aren't centrally managed...

This just confirms my decision to never fly United again

That looks like a conference room PC, I would doubt OP even has any control over that and possibly didn't even have access to the room until right before

It isn't their computer.

It's likely on a campus domain managed by campus IT and should be configured with a sane update policy that automatically does this overnight when the systems aren't being used.

It snapped the tip of the carrot, which wouldn't be a lot of resistance

Based on what it didn't cut through, his finger should have been safe but apparently Tesla designed the thing to keep increasing the pressure if it detects resistance each time until it can close, which is absolutely baffling. I don't know of any other safety feature that turns down the safety the more it activates. The fact that it reacts to the exact same conditions differently each time should, in itself, be deeply concerning for any safety feature.

It might have been dumb of him to try it, but that doesn't change that it's still unsafe.

I asked it how to get rid of it.

It decided my aggressive language was not okay and kept ending the "conversation" which only managed to piss me off even more.

If I want to curse at my f$king computer, I'm going to curse at my f$king computer. I paid for the damned thing, and it is a thing, not a person, I can yell at it all I want and not hurt it in any way so this policing of what we can say to it is all the more bizarre to me.

I hate those comments... I can't say they're the most useless garbage out there, but they're damned close.

It's great for smallish groups of friends bs-ing or collaborating, but bigger than that I've always found it painful

But, some people can apparently keep up with the firehouse of comments on Twitch streams while they make me not want to bother with it at all, so...

Opera died when they killed Presto and pretended they couldn't make anything like that with blink.

Then the old ones made Vivaldi and proved that was a damned lie.
