Ich mein eher sowas wie, ich hab am Hals nicht mit dem Strich gezogen und jetzt ein paar blutige Stellen. Alles in allem ist mein Rasierbrand weniger geworden, glaub ich.

HLI die Minze Entwickler haben Gnom 3 gegabelt und es in eine eigene Richtung weiterentwickelt. Vielleicht sollte ich Zimt auch mal ausprobieren.

Aber das offensichtlichste kriegt die KI natürlich nicht hin!

Nämlich erstmal diese antiken Heizkörper austauschen lassen. Da brauchst du eine höllische Vorlauftemperatur damit es warm ist. Das kriegst du mit einer Wärmepumpe kaum hin, und ineffizient ist es obendrauf.

Ich will nich schon wieder einen fiesen hoch-Fleiss Pfosten auf @rhabarba werfen...

Ich sag nur soviel: wer nicht mit der einen Fenster-Applikation brechen will ist auch nicht schlimmer wie jemand der für ein paar Kontakte ein Xitter oder WhatsApp Konto pflegt. Wenn man mal aus dem Käfig ausgebrochen ist, ist es eh meistens aufwändiger proprietäre Weichware zu installieren, und mit der Zeit lässt man es.

Ich fand Taler mal seht vielversprechend. Der anonyme "Digital Cash" Ansazt kann ja ein gutes Komplement zu Wero sein.

Mittlerweile haftet dem ganzen ein gewisser FinTech Cringe an, insbesondere wenn ich bei NGI Taler sowas lese wie:

TALER Bullion will add an infrastructure for Taler payments with non-fiat currencies such as gold and silver

Da frag ich mich dann schon, wie weltfremd dieses Projekt ist, und obs am Ende nicht Riesen Löcher für Geldwäsche gibt. "Fraud eliminated by design" lol. Das sind alles nur Vibes, die mich stären. Auf Papier wirkt das Kernprojekt noch kompetent und anständig.

Wenn man hier "wärmendes Licht" schreibt, funktioniert es noch besser.

Das ist aber weniger ein Problem mit KI sondern mit faulen Studenten.

Kann man nicht so einfach trennen, weil KI spezifisch solche Nutzer anzieht. Klar, es wurde hart gepusht und jeder hats mal ausprobiert, aber die Kernnutzergruppe sind einfach Leute die so tun wollen als hätten sie gearbeitet.

Niemand nutzt KI weil es der einzige effiziente Weg ist zu einem bestimmten Ergebnis zu kommen. Es wird genutzt weil mit wenig Aufwand ein quasi-fertiges Produkt rausfällt.

Das selbe kann man übers Googeln auch sagen.

Lol, nein. Wenn du irgend ein Thema recherchieren willst kommst du in 99% der Fälle nicht an einer Suchmaschine vorbei. Das liegt einfach daran wie wir global Informationen organisiert haben.

Ein besserer Vergleich wäre es, auf den "Feeling Lucky" Knopf zu hauen und das erste SEO-Slop Ergebnis anzusehen.

Wieso priorisierst du deine aktuelle Wahrnehmung als "die Realität". Sind nicht beide Zustände valide Realitäten?

I don't think callling genAI output "not art" is a very defendable statement. I believe art is ultimately a type of activity, and one that is very hard to draw a strict line around. If I find a cool piece of driftwood and frame it, did I do art? That's kind of what that artist did when he picked his album cover.

But I also share your sentiment about "AI artists" pretending to work in a medium of which they understand 0% of the nuance. I think it makes more sense to call those people hacks instead of "not artists", because that's what you call people who use shallow, formulaic methods to dabble in a medium of which they are wholly incompetent.

And finally, AI as toolset does of course uniquely pander to hacks.

Apropos Bruce, I have this writeup sitting around half-finished, where I go over the AI chapters of A Hackers Mind and try to pinpoint his naivité (however you spell that) of the subject. I really should dump that in a Snubstack.

After reading his older article, I can totally see how he fits into one of the middle layers of the diagram in the UAntwerp paper. He moved beyond basic followership and knows enough to stan EA to potential recruits. But he hasn't advanced to the part where you score comfy research positions in backroom deals with rich benefactors. So AI doom is just one of those things he doesn't really get, but a lot of people he respects take it super seriously, so it's got to be something.
