I think it's important to contextualize what a civil war in America nowadays would look like. It will be military vs police, national guard vs army, civilians vs government, etc. etc. Most Americans don't even have a shared history anymore, let alone present.

We allow and are complicit in these murders for every day we stand by and let our leaders do the murdering. If another attack happens on US citizens a la 9/11 then I will not be shocked or surprised, we have it coming. It's literally a sake of national security that we remove our current leadership from power, otherwise we're literally inviting a retaliation with blindfolds on.

When are we going to change that? It's been a while, like 600BC, but we managed just fine for tens of thousands of years before minted coin.

Bullying is a part of British culture, the "yes m'lord" attitude is still strong within them, don't cause a fuss, "keep calm and carry on" is their motto for a reason...

As someone who has spent half their life in the UK and the other half in the USA, specifically the English are particularly nasty and have a strange admiration for the "clever bully", both in school and at work. That isn't to say the USA doesn't have bullies, they're just not as universally admired.

For animals things are done practically. For humans things are done profitably.

And we will keep allowing oligarchical tyrants like Putin to rob us and slaughter our heroes and communities. If we were better people we would've put a stop to this already, but the framers know we're pathetic, which is why fascism will take over the world. For too many decades now I've seen movements, protests, demonstrations, voting, all these ways fail us time and time again, only making things slip into worse and worse situations. We need to stop playing the game by their rules, but we can't even agree with eachother in Lemmy comment threads let alone organize to do anything that matters.

Whenever I brought this up to my Trump-supporting aunt (who lives in the UK) she would just wave it off and say, "Oh that's fake news." I genuinely think they're incapable of even entertaining those facts, let alone seeing them and supporting them as you say. It's an absurd level of brainwashing.

I would argue that schools are really just a battery farm for obedient workers. Getting good marks doesn't mean the kid is smart, just means they're good at doing what they're told even if they don't want to, and thus makes a perfect and obedient worker. It also gets kids used to the idea of not having any rights, and having to ask to do basic human rights like eat or go to the bathroom.

They'll be outnumbered after the boomers are gone. They'll either have to adapt, hide back in the shadows, or go full extremist.
