That's true, but I don't want to miss out on gameplay just because the characters make me want to crawl out of my skin πŸ˜‚ Astarion dies immediately for me too!

Yeah there are a lot of BG3 fans that are a bit unwilling to hear any criticism. Which is fine, they're passionate about something they really love and they don't need to hear my opinion πŸ˜… You just kind of have to ignore a lot of them when you want to discuss the game.

It is sad that there are such few cases in an industry that could be so artistic! I wanna make it clear that I do have a lot of respect for indie Devs like Team Cherry for the way they're working and the way they're not exploiting their fans.

I have no strong feelings on whether this game, or Hollow Knight, are overhyped and I know they're beloved. I enjoyed Hollow Knight.

I also do understand being sceptical of "beloved" products. There's a lot of sneaky marketing tactics out there. I'm very anti-advertising, so I know I'm biased and probably a little paranoid lol

I'm absolutely not saying Team Cherry is doing some sneaky grassroots marketing campaign or anything, and I do believe that Silksong has a lot of people excited which is why we're seeing so much chatter about it! We are not disagreeing.

I hope you've had a good start to the week! ✌️

Honestly I feel bad for not enjoying it. I really do wish I could stand the energy that character interactions in that game give off but I just can't. I had to mute the game several times, especially when Karlach was around.

The whole thing is just... Too much. And all the characters keep trying to fuck you, too?? It's so uncomfortable, and very very "young adult fiction".

I can tell the game was made with real passion, and I wish I could have enjoyed it more. I played like 60 hours I think and loved it until anybody opened their mouths πŸ˜‚

No I get it, and that in particular is a good point, but the whole "you can't criticise this until you've made something equivalent" is just nothing

I wasn't making any comment about that.

Whoa. Enormous respect to Team Cherry for this. It's so cool to see people not rinsing passionate fans! Well done 🀘

This kind of argument suuuuuucks. I can at least understand the other commenter being sceptical of games that are popular because marketers are sneaky like that (not that I agree with the person you're replying to), but this "you can't criticise unless you've developed a game" thing is no good

If you have a strong stomach for unbelievably cringeworthy theater kid energy but really fun gameplay, go for Baldurs Gate 3.

If you want to be upset during really fun gameplay, go for Clair Obscur.

It's blatant satire, doesn't pass the sniff test - it's too obvious. Funny tho!

Sam Altman belongs in prison. His machine encouraged and guided a child to kill themselves. His machine actively stopped that child seeking outside help. Sam Altman belongs in prison. Sam Altman does not need another $20,000,000,000,000. He needs to go through the legal system and be sentenced and sent to prison because his machine pushed a child to suicide.

I am also massively against the anti-human little nazi machines that encourage kids to kill themselves. I'm not sure how people are so supportive of them, but it's very sad to see so many grown adults make excuses to defend their imaginary spouses and robot yes-men that they have to pay for.
