She has a whole Tolkien series that is really beautiful. I have this one in my living room. People don’t realize what it is until they look closely and see the sword and the blood, haha.
You mentioned pest control in the soil - have you tried mosquito bits? I ended up mixing some in with the soil for a Monstera and I also put a layer over the top and it does seem to make a difference. I do have to combine it with those unsightly yellow sticky traps, though. Between plants and the inverts I keep, my house is full of containers of damp dirt.
In case anyone is thinking about getting a katchy, you can read the reviews, but I give it a thumbs-down. I used it only a few times before fall and it worked okay, but when I pulled it out again in the spring I just get orange error lights and no response when I reached out to them.
Those look great! Your cables especially are very neat. I think I spent like my first 6 months knitting twisting my stitches until some kind soul straightened me out.
Sweet, thanks for letting me know. I’ll hang tight until it gets fixed then.
Kind of a ridiculous size comparison. I can touch the top of my refrigerator, but that doesn’t make me the size of one…
Mine is more like, ope, it’s looking a bit cloudy outside. I guess I can’t mow today in case I get rained on and electrocuted by my electric mower!
Feels great in the moment and awful later when I have a jungle to deal with.
Thank you, that clicked it for me! Somehow I was just not getting that the coins were not cumulative, so that makes sense now.
In fact, it sounds like regular turnover actually benefits everyone, since you don’t get extra coins for staying multiple days. I feel much better! I didn’t want to be the adult that showed up and ruined everyone’s fun, but I just looked up the average age of a Pokemon Go player and it looks like I’m not actually very likely to come across many children, haha.
It will make a big difference if you learn to “read” your knitting so you don’t have to try to remember. For a standard ribbing, if the stitch you are about to work is in a columns of V’s, you knit it. Otherwise you purl. Of course, that probably doesn’t help much with the setup row…
Chickpea Salad:
- canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- tahini (a scoop or two)
- sliced almonds
- red onion, diced
- celery, diced
- splash of apple cider vinegar
- Seasonings: salt, pepper, cumin seed, coriander
Mash the chickpeas just a bit in a bowl (pastry cutter works well). You want to keep it pretty chunky. Add all the other ingredients and mix. I don’t measure anything, but I have a pretty heavy hand with the seasonings. This is best after it sits for a few hours. I like to eat it on toast or just by itself (usually at night in front of the fridge).
That’s very pretty. I prefer your version with the cuffs and longer bottom ribbing. I think I’m putting this one on my list!
I can’t see all the comments, so this may have been mentioned, but make sure you have a good spot that gets bright sun most of the day. I don’t even bother with herbs indoors because my kitchen faces East and I don’t have a bright enough spot. If you notice your plants starting to look a little “leggy” (sending out long shoots with lots of distance between the leaves) that’s a good sign they are not getting enough light.
I love this! Not sure what you mean by “ends”, though. Are you referring to the whimsical fringe in the armpit of my sweater? That is a design element!
