True, but if GDPR has taught us anything… smaller firms will bend over backwards to comply and the largest ones will make cutouts, bend the rules and treat fines like fees to play. I think having the law in the US would be the best way to protect US citizens. In addition, I think it would be able to have more teeth being the country where a lot of these companies were founded and most importantly where they bank.
It was recommended to me one day and I really hope it is something the YouTube algorithm is pushing in general and not something super personalized since I watch a number of trans content creators. I kinda want it to be seen by some people who are on the fence about all this, one can only hope.

If you don't count any system that is predicated on the degree of exploited labor (underpaid/overworked, child labor, and slavery) Then yeah, a functioning economic system hasn't ever been seen in U.S. history... not really compatible as there will always be exploited labor under capitalism.
