$200 for a refurbished 20TB drive on Newegg

The new ones were on sale for $270 so around $10-15 per TB. The best I can find is $40-50 per TB for SSD. Certainly not 7times more expensive but more like 3-5.

I have to remind myself that I watch this for entertainment. If it's not enjoyable I need to turn it off and walk away. I've had lots of practice over the years as a Lions fan. I tend to turn it off when it becomes a shitshow.

Glad to know that others still love this movie! Bill Paxton nailed his Hudson character to a T! This is the apex of 80s movies that cross over between action/comedy sci-fi/horror genres and still tell an awesome story! H R Gigers alien designs were also creepy as fuck and on point. Hats off to James Cameron and Sigourney Weaver as well, and even Paul Riser nailed his sleazbag corporate stooge character. There is not one bad scene in this epic movie!

Not unexpected, but the Bruins are losing a lot of veterans this summer. I have no idea which team will come out on top of the Atlantic next year, I can't wait!

There is a good article from Max Bultman regarding several red Wings Prospects. It sounds like Pellikka still has a way to go but Johannson may be closer to pushing for a roster spot. I'm also trying to crosspost this into the NHL community since it seems to be pretty quiet in team communities during the summer.

I'm trying to figure out how to create a post that shows up in more than one community. There is a pull down menu to select one community but it doesn't seem like more than one can be selected. I think that I've seen other people do it. I've searched for it but haven't found an answer. The join lemmy intro website does not seem mention it either. on https://join-lemmy.org/docs/introduction.html . Is there a Lemmy posting tips and tricks summary somewhere other than the RTFM option?

Good catch! I went in my settings and apparently the bot account was checked. Not sure how that happened. I unchecked it.

On !trendingcommunities@feddit.nl I am unable to click on the links provided there with sync. Link just shows as a different blue color. Links work with Jeroba etc. Is anyone else having similar issues?

Port forwarding, got a good deal, reviewed well. It exports Wireguard and OpenVPN files easily, so you are not tied to their Eddie client. I'm happy with it so far.

I'm looking at different options for getting a NAS/RAID array system that is tolerant to not just hard drive failures but also to hardware/firmware and board failures. I've utilized a RAID array in the past that was built into the motherboard, which resulted in the motherboard failing and me having to ebay another one to get the RAID array back up and running. Then I bought a NAS 2 bay drive that was only compatible with drives up to 1.5TB. I've also used external drives for backup since I've been burned by hardware/firmware/software issues related to RAID arrays. Are there are any PCI RAID cards, NAS boxes or software RAID or other options where the hard drives would still be readable by other RAID cards if the boards failed? Maybe a software RAID solution? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I thought it was pretty interesting discussion with how the three of them started 3 years ago versus where they are now.

I have been using Jellyfin on Android and Windows viewing DVD movies that were converted with Handbrake into M4V files in H.265 format. The foreign subtitles and closed captions have always been embedded and passed through by handbrake, and I've never had any issues playing the subtitles over th years with VLC/KODI/Plex etc. Even On Windows or android Jellyfin clients I've had no issues. My parents only use Roku however, and the only way I've been able to get the subtitles working for them is by creating a separate .srt file in the folder that has the video. I've tried .ass files using subtitle edit program without success. Do I need to reencode all my movies with subtitles and extract them as srt files for them to work on Roku? Or is there a better way to to get them working on Jellyfin Roku? Also, is there a format other than srt that is compatible with Jellyfin Roku?

Apparently they're swapping a 6th and a 7th round pick for the former 2020 2nd round pick. The QB situation was a shitshow in NY for awhile now so hopefully Mims has the talent to take someone's spot. There are plenty of opportunities after Jones and Sun God for the first couple months of the season.

Looking at stats alone, DeBrincat is likely to get around a similar contract as Larkin around $8.5 million. Is he worth the huge contract for the Red Wings?

Is there a way to have them marked as AI like NSFW, or some sort of hashtag? That Way people can easily filter them out if they don't want to see them.

This arrest moves the Titans up from 25th place to a tie for 15th place for the most arrests since 2000. Still a long way to go before catching KC!

Just need to watch the sporting events on ESPN with mute or sync with local radio. Maybe ESPN will save enough money to be able to to broadcast in HDR or 4k this decade. /s

There was a good article about him in The Athletic. He has been working with psychology professors on trying to figure out how to change and motivate people differently. It sounds like that he is aware that he can't coach the way he used to. It doesn't excuse his past behavior, but second chances are given to people who do much worse things than he did.
