Most places treat their water with chlorine or chloramine. Way better than having amoebas but if you can afford a filter do so. Different municipalities treat water differently, look yours up or test to see what you need. I went from carbon filters for chloramine to RO after moving somewhere with worse water

You don't want to know how much plastic you drank. Stop that, buy a filter for your tap. Your brand is probably better than Nestle but not much. https://www.uclahealth.org/news/article/truth-about-nanoplastics-bottled-water

Uninstall it. Firefox and chromium are the most secure browsers you can get. I like to put this in money terms. A 0 day for those two is tens of thousands of dollars. An Opera or brave exploit? Maybe a couple grand

Abbott's neighbor's tree branch fell on him. He sued his neighbor and used the money to run for governor. He immediately changed the law so lawsuits like his are capped and no one else can sue for as much as he won. I prefer to call him "limp dick Greg" but some like "little piss baby"

Murder solve rate in the US is like 50%. If you count hitmen, sicarios and cops it's probably in the hundreds

Think further back. Like late 80s to 90s IBM

How old do you think the mainframes running Social Security are?

[-] digipheonix@lemmy.dbzer0.com 62 points 5 days ago

No. Java is not suited for this. This code runs on mainframes not some x86 shitbox cluster of dell blades. They literally could not purchase the hardware needed to switch to java in the timeline given. I get what you're trying to say but in this case Java is a hard no.
