FINALLY a Cerritos!
I have definitely been proven wrong by Star Trek things that look terrible at the outset, but...this looks terrible. I mean I guess we're getting a Deltan, so that's fun? And a chameloid is a bit of a deep cut? But jesus, I could not want to see this less. I hope I'll be proven wrong!
Man, they could not have picked a collection of less interesting ships if they tried
I'm not sure I can think of another modern companion that would have carried that episode that well, especially as their first week of work. Donna's the most complete companion for me, but she's a very different vibe. Billie Piper's also really good when she's given the chance but I don't know that Doctor Who ever gave her that much chance. Clara by the end but it took a few series I think.
They're also paying attention to when they need to renegotiate contracts. After the strikes, studio leadership has really doubled down on not giving an inch on writers' and actors' salaries even if it means cancelling a successful show. It's more valuable to them to keep workers in a state of perpetual gig work than anything they'd make from the show.
The shape of Hy’Rell’s head bumps resemble those of Xindi-Primates, first appearing in ENT: “The Xindi”, one of six intelligent Xindi species that were native to Xindus.
I believe it was mentioned in an interview that she's an Efrosian, which would be the first time we've seen one since TUC! The hair and the blue eyes seem consistent.
I'm down, I'm super excited for the new series and who knows when Prodigy will air
I hope they're open to it. Man what I wouldn't give to use Memory Alpha without all the annoying Fandom garbage.
Frankly, the scene that introduced Stamets and Culber together I think was intended to surprise the audience in a different way –– Stamets is a huge jerk the previous few episodes and set up as a semi-antagonist, and that bit shows him in a very different light, as the audience/Burnham starts to thaw on the Discovery crew.
I loved this one. I'd read a Ryan North comic about Shaxs doing pretty much anything, but nice to see him in action fighting fascists.

Transporting the Klingon's arms off was a true delight.
And of course she has perfect taste and loves DS9. Iconic.
