Imho it's marketing. The game is bad, writing is bad, gameplay is boring after a while, it seems (except for technical optimization) the game itself is a big mobile game. The "woke criticism" is exploited by ea to sell more, since it create engagement and hide the real flaws of the game

Millions of people in the world don't know to have a choice or even can't stop using google products. Google has a near monopoly and it isn't just something you can totally evade

I really don't understand all those posts: I use nginx, apparmor, partially even modsecurity, I use collabora office official debian package, face recognition, email, update regularly (waiting for major upgrades for every app I use to be updated), etc. and literally never had a problem in the last 5 years except for my own experiment. True, only 5 people use my instance, but Nextcloud is rock solid for me

AnySoftKeyboard, I use it and love it, but it need a lot of time to be configured exactly like you want

So, if I want to access a website, google has to collect a record about me, and only if the fucking company approve my past behavior I can access the site. Of course if I don't have any past records I can't (easily?) access the website. Simply awesome.

Cause fuck DRM. And sometimes because updates and game version on steam are different (e.g. skyrim version on steam support more mods than gog version)

Battery shape (and connector) will sadly still be a thing for a long time, and usually it's for engineering reasons, so I don't really think it will be possible to standardize it

I hope this trend continue. Fuck slavers

Linux and everything FOSS (and not only open source) IS political. It's a clear ethical choice and it impact everyone who use the software. The entire FOSS movement IS political

IMHO, the problem is more subtle: nothing on the internet will stay forever, if you find a piece of information you like to save forever, you should save it locally AND with something like internet archive. A community can transfer to the same community in another server with proper forewarning. Finally, mastodon introduced the ability to move your account to another istance manteining your followers for quite a while now, maybe lemmy can find a way to introduce something like that too

Comincio io, comincio io!
