Okay my bad, I think I just misunderstand BSD-3 and read somewhere that Proton is Valve's proprietary software. In terms of open source software, the only licenses I'm really familiar with are GNU, Apache, and MIT. So I read one thing online saying Proton was proprietary and assumed BSD-3 was a proprietary license without looking into it further.

I have no advice for you but as someone relatively new to lemmy I'm trying to understand all this drama. It seems like hexbear is leftist which I thought was cool (full disclosure tho I've not checked it out at all), but this just seems... really extreme. That joke comment reply probably wasn't the best thing to say but it's crazy to me that you didn't even get any dialouge opened up or anything, just an outright ban? And it seems like the person who reported it had no frame of reference for Stardew. Sorry this happened :< Seems kind of knee-jerk on their behalf. I hope you can open a dialogue, clear things up and get your account back <3

90 days is a really long time haha, so I don't mind that limitation for other countries. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I am pursuing and what would be most strategic, but it seems like there is a lot of demand for IT jobs in many parts of Europe. I'm very interesting in programming, computer science, computer hardware, and networking -- really anything with computers or electronics tbh. So surely there's some niche I can fill.

Matrix is promising, but I think it still could use a bit more polish. That said, I run a discord community, and soon one of these days I'm going to make a Matrix version of it and encourage users to try it out. Though very few probably will.

Yeah it's legal in Colorado and I had some fun with it while I was there. But now in Texas even though I'm of legal age I cannot get access to weed legally (except for delta-8, but they're trying to ban that too). And that also means the quality of weed is much, much worse. The smell of good quality legal weed from the boutique dispensaries in CO are very pleasant and calming to me, but I absolutely cannot stand the smell or taste of the "skunky" stuff, which in my experience pretty much all illegal weed tends to be. So I don't have much interest in obtaining weed in Texas, especially because I don't plan on staying here. My current plan is to get a degree and get out of the country, ideally move tosomewhere in Europe. Not sure exactly where yet, but I've narrowed down a list with the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Estonia, and Switzerland currently at the top (and yeah ik weed isn't legal in all those places either but from what I've seen the punishments seem to be far less severe). So I'm not really chomping at the bit to get access to drugs right now, though it'd sure be nice if more things were legal here.

Yeah the delivery part has always been what's worried me the most. I don't know anything about getting a secure mailbox because as I understand it, any delivery point that belongs to you can be traced back to your name. And the only options I have are my house and the UPS/USPS office for delivery.

Also yeah I'll be voting for this election, hoping for a Harris win too and also for Allred to finally kick Cruz out of Texas!

I do want to understand, I am no "booster" by any means and I think on the whole AI is being used in some abhorrent ways, but I don't think the technology is the problem I think the problem is it's use to steal art and by corporations to cut people out of the picture, and I do think there are some beneficial applications of AI and that it is not unilaterally negative or evil. Just being used in a lot of shitty evil ways right now. Does that mean I am unwelcome here? Genuinely asking.
