I subscribe to multiple communities for the same reason. In addition, the communities tend to be pretty small, and this helps me see the posts that might go under the radar if I otherwise were not subscribed.
In the event that our admins begin accepting donations, I’ve wondered how the server might be affected in the future if the number of users continues to grow but the funding can’t keep up.
You wouldn’t want to eject users, but the server usage and costs won’t simply drop. What are one’s choices in that scenario? Interesting thought experiment.
Good to be back, and glad to hear it was only a slow hug-of-death. Any consideration in upgrading the server version to 17.4?
Edit: are there any alternative channels where server status is posted?
Hear, hear! It’s really not difficult to be decent human beings and to treat others as you would want to be treated.
I get that same error message as well, and I get something similar when posting on other instances where “undetermined” is an unsupported language. (I initially took this error as a warning about foul language which confused me for a bit.)
I’m playing through a small sandbox Solitary Defilement (Mörk Borg) adventure, and two days in, one of my two characters has already been killed by a betentacled, exoskeleton wearing stag.
Which is all to say it’s going great, and I’m having a good time!
I don't think Mork Borg counts as a non-d20 system, but I'm playing a sandbox Solitary Defilement adventure with that right now. I'm here to spy on what systems other folks are playing though so that I know what to try...
Yikes, that says something about my attention to detail I guess haha. Regardless, thanks for your efforts! Do you have a means by which to accept donations for server costs perchance?
Due to federation showing me so many posts, I thought that Blåhaj had way more than 100 users! It’s nice that we can still be connected to other instances while the server remains at a manageable level. Thanks for spinning this up and allowing so many folks to join! Looking forward to the kbin instance too.
I would also like to know more about instances being defederated and for what reason this might be happening.
DuckDuckGo 95% of the time, Google if I’m having trouble finding something.
Libby, the ebook reader app that is synced with my library card! It works quite well, and though I technically pay for my public library via taxes, the app is free and fantastic!
