I’ve been doing it for years to my personal books I download that I can’t find in ePub, I have no issues with my sanity. I also usually do this before I read the book, and double check my editing as I read it. 98% of the time I caught all the errors that were not present in the original text (it copies typos perfectly) .

1. Use convert.io to convert pdf to EPUB
2. Import EPUB to editor software such as sigil
3. Find editing issues in the text by hand, once you’ve found one issue that gets repeated like “AuThOr 78” for page numbers
4. Use the search and replace function to replace all instances with blank
5. Skim over the text for a couple minutes not reading, but looking for other weird breaks in the text flow
6. When you think you have them all export the file and start reading, if you see any other less obvious issues mark them in the notes and do a final edit for aesthetics

You now have the book on EPUB to be placed in your personal cloud or whatever.

Yeah… I suppose it’s been a while since I’ve watched them with my eyes instead of my ears, so I just queued it up. Why did they decide to cast the ligonians like that 👀? I knew it wasn’t a good one, but jeez. Anyway, it’s like the 4th episode of the whole series, and considered the 2nd worst piece of Star Trek in total.

I was waiting to see, because my nostalgia probably blinds me, but I know it’s 80’s Star Trek. If I had to guess in the misogyny, it would probably be that the outfits for women are completely different than the standard issue uniform everyone else wears. In the first episode they had one guy wearing a Skant, then you basically only see them on women a couple times, then the women lose their brains because they gained cleavage, and lose cleavage to gain brains.

I really don’t have a guess on racism though. As far as I knew, Star Trek was always ahead of the curve on the round of race. William Shatner for all his problems intentionally botched every alternate take of the scene where he kissed Uhara to force them to include the first televised interracial kiss. They even had one episode in OG Star Trek where a race of half back half white people were fighting with the half white half black folks pointing out the absurdity.

Though seriously, if they want to trans ban me from WW3 with China, Russia, and North Korea I really don’t mind at all. Go send all the cis-hets to die in countries they can’t point to without a labeled map to spite me.

I was more disgusted that none of her Christian friends could be bothered to take a dying blind person to church for Easter. It’s been like that with everything, they can’t be assed to do anything but want to sit here and pass judgement that we are gonna kill her (she’s literally dying anyway so eventually they’ll be ‘right’) and that we should put her against her will to rot in a facility with no loved ones to visit her alone and isolated. She just wants to be here with her grandson, and frankly if she wants to drown herself in a bathtub or a bottle of whiskey that should be her right.

the APK was updated 3 days ago on github, no idea what the playstore says.

I started by reinstalling my OS to have my full chosen name as my user account, and taking a nice femme selfie. I own a domain and custom email, so I set one up for that name that will slowly gain more and more of my digital identity and accounts until the old email is basically just spam where I’ll probably just keep it as an archive in case I miss something in the migration and slowly let it fade into the background.

I don’t know how I will feel in the future, but as it is now, I expect being deadnamed will just be a part of the process, so I’m not too hung up on it.

I had a chosen name and a legal name prior, so it’s not an adjustment to have old friends and acquaintances not catch the memo, and anyone who is just being toxic about it can be eliminated very easily even if it’s family. Wouldn’t be the first time we’ve disowned each other.

I'm trying, maybe I messed up when I converted the file, but it shows as a broken image, when I go to the web address where the image should be hosted it says

the first image I exported from gimp, 2nd picture was converted online. Seems unlikely I botched 2 seperate conversion attempts using seperate utilities

You could say the same about the Simpsons today, where in the early 90’s it was groundbreaking and novel.

It’s already made its mark and become so integrated into the media landscape that it is tropey and simple now.
